Do you have a link to that info about the files being transferred to local offices being adjudicated by the end of October? I would love to read that!

31 Jan 2013 -- NOA1 from NBC

6 Mar 2013 -- I130 transferred to Orlando local field office (which started the whole nightmare)

Mar 2013 to October 2013 no one would tell us where our case was or what was happening. I suspected the whole time it was just sitting in a corner somewhere in the Orlando field office. I was pretty much right.

October 2013 - get congressman involved. Congressman asks USCIS repeatedly about our case but they won't even tell them anything.

31 Jan 2014- finally get NOA2!!!! (we think the nightmare is over!)

NVC

Our case was not sent from the Orlando field office as it should have been. The nightmare continues. We kept calling NVC and asking if they received our case, and they always said "NO" and that we had to wait 90 business days for it to be received. We called USCIS during this time and they kept telling us it had been sent. After the 90 days of agonizing frustration, NVC then started telling us we had to wait 120 business days. I got our congressman involved again, and they told the congressman it was sitting at the Orlando office this whole time (just as I thought it was!).

22 Apr 2014 -- NVC received
16 May 2014 -- NVC case number assigned
24 May 2014 -- AoS and IV bills paid

28 May 2014 -- Sent AoS and IV Packages

6 June 2014 -- documents scanned

18 July 2014 -- false checklist from NVC

21 July 2014 -- Case complete

28 July 2014 -- receive case complete email from NV

30 July 2014 -- interview booked! September 11 here I come!

Wow I hope its true!! It's giving me some hope! im waiting for almost 10 months..

Would also like to add that in September we had two cases of I-130 approvals at CSC. Both took about two weeks from NOA1 to NOA2.

Hopefully all transferred files will be approved just as fast now.

Well, it sounds promising.. but at the same time, I'm going to be realistic. If they were really working on clearing the I-130s at the local offices by the end of October, then I'm pretty sure we would have seen more people getting approved recently. I'm fairly certain there are quite a lot of us who were transferred to the local offices and haven't heard jack squat since then.

I am turning into an awful pessimist from this whole experience!

Well, we just had a NYC local office approval. So who knows...

Seriously, fingers crossed!

I know, right? this process is a nightmare. And my husband only just filed our petition 6 weeks ago and I'm already exhausted :P

Thank God for VJ, though :)

I wonder if they transferred any of jan feb march april petitions or all the recent ones

my best guess would be the older files that kind of got stuck at the NBC. Since Mayand forward went to Kansas.... Looks like they started with Feb/March..... and since people are getting notices already, I also would guess they transferred them a wekk ago or so... and didn't announce it then because they would have been flooded with calls

The volumes ares low at the service centers.... I hope they just get to them and get us out of this hell hole. I hope the NVC hired more people ( sigh)

Also... I don't think the clock starts over... I think this is a really really good sign. I have just about 6.5 weeks... I hope to be celebrating with my husband on Thanksgiving. Maybe I'm dreaming but ......I need something to hope for

this is an absolute disgrace. Why are they JUST NOW transferring these petitions? I'm so angry there's no chance of me being optimistic at this point and I'm just a June filer, I have no idea how people who filed at the beginning of the year are coping. What's even worse is there's no one to really direct your anger towards it's like you pay them $420 and they get to do whatever they want!

I'm totally fed up, I just sent another I-130 to the London Embassy and I'm going to go the DCF route. It's a shame the government gets so much money for these applications and then just screws people around.

2013-22-05: Sent I-130 to Chicago Lockbox

2013-10-06: NOA1 received - Petition at Overland Park, Kansas

2013-11-12: Email stating our I-130 has been transferred to a local USCIS Office

2013-13-12: Email stating our I-130 was transferred and is now being processed at a USCIS office

Have now decided to do DCF through the London Embassy:

2013-22-10: Overnighted a second I-130 to London

2013-24-10: NOA1

2013-21-11: Letter requesting that we cancel our I-130 petition filed in the U.S.

This was me during our K1 process lol. Whenever I would see "OMG got approved after 3 hours" post... I was always tempted to say something nasty, but then I realized how I was turning into the immigration Grinch, so I did a lot of stepping away from visajourney

USCIS recently began transferring some casework from the National Benefits Center to the Nebraska, Texas and California Service Centers to balance overall operational workload.

I know this is what they said, but it seems like everyone getting notices is saying that they were transferred to local offices. I wonder where I'll be transferred to (if it happens) since I filed from abroad. Or if I'll just sit in NBC forever and ever and ever and ever and ever....

I'm willing to bet this "sent to local office" message is just a mistake.

Although, who knows... Will USCIS send hard copies?
