Hello Everyone,

I received my NOA2 (approved on 10/15/13) in the mail today and thought the NVC number may be on it, however, it just shows my case number from USCIS. When I go to the USCIS website and put in my case number the below comment is noted:

"Post Decision Activity

On October 17, 2013, we shipped this approved or re-affirmed case to the Department of State for visa processing. For more information, please contact them directly"

Does anyone know if this means our packet was received by NVC? Or does this mean (as stated) that is was sent (and to wait for the NVC to contact us)?

I did not receive an e-mail noting that the NOA2 was on the way... so I am concerned that I (or my fiancé) may not receive the packet via e-mail. Have any of you encountered this? Or is this typical? Do they also send a letter?

Meanwhile, my fiancé and I have been working on the packet 3 documents per this website. Any other suggestions?

Thanks in advance for any input!

To receive an email from NVC with the embassy case # you need to email them and request it.

For the NVC:
Checking on your embassy case number: It will takes 4-8 weeks for NVC to receive your file from USCIS after you receive the NOA2, then another 10-15 business days for NVC to get your file in their system and get the case # from USEM. Call after 4:45 PM eastern time for shorter wait times K1's are not tracked through the AVR, ever. They are processed like an immigrant visa, but they are NOT immigrant visas, so they fall into a completely different class of their own. Therefore you need an operator.

To get there: 1-603-334-0700 Operator assistance is available Monday through Friday from 7:30 AM to 12:00 AM (Eastern Time)

Press 1 for English
Press 5 for an operator

NVC CONTACT INFORMATION:
Website: http://travel.state.gov/visa/immigrants/info/info_3177.html

E-mail: NVCInquiry@state.gov The email request for your case # is also a great way to track when your file is forwarded to USEM as NVC will not reply to the email until that time. ;-)
If your petition is delayed or "lost" between USICS shipping it to NVC use this email: nvcresearch@state.gov

REQUIRED SECURITY INFORMATION:
You are required to provide the following security information with each inquiry to receive a case specific response:
* NVC Case Number or USCIS Receipt Number (Place in the subject line of the e-mail).
* Petitioner's name and date of birth.
( NOTE: If the visa petition is employment-based, include the employer's company/organization name instead of the petitioner's name and date of birth. )
* Principal Applicant's name and date of birth. (Beneficiary)

It is exactly same with mine on USCIS website. And neither me or my fiance get an email notification.

Realize this is an old post, but in case anyone like me stumbles on it while looking for the answer to this question I just wanted to give an update. I received an email from NVC without me calling and requesting. They must have had it on file from USCIS. Thought others might like to know that.
