I'm filling out the AoS package papers (I-130 from my wife, I-485 and I-765 that I have to fill out). The confusing part is, since I don't have any plans to leave the country until the process is over, should I fill also the I-131 and include it in the package.

Our main concern is what if we need to leave for some emergency with my family in Argentina. It would be a good idea to do it since filling it out and sending it with the AoS package is free. But when I started filling out the form in "Part 3. Processing Information" and "Part 4. Information About Your Proposed Travel" they ask for specific travel arrangements, which we don't have because we are filling it only as a contingency measure.

How do I fill this out?

You can put "unknown." AP is routinely approved for people with pending I-485s.

Thank you so much for the quick response :)

I would like to join in this question as I'm a bit like the OP. My question, however, is at Q1 of Part 3: Date of Intended Departure, and Q2 of the same part: Expected Length of Trip. How should I fill those?

I'm not sure. For what I've been researching just print "Unknown", but I'm still waiting for more feedback

You will need to leave those blank as you complete the rest of the form that applies to AP. When you print it out, hand-write 'Unknown' for the date and length.

That clarifies all the doubts I have about the I-131. Thanks a lot :-)

You are welcome. Also, in case you did not know, you also do not need to include a statement as to your reasons for wanting AP. When filed with a pending I-485, that is not required.

Looking at the date (24 Sept 2013), is this valid yet? Because filling the form I see the Date of Intended Departure affects the barcode. Could that be a problem?

No, not a problem. It still applies. AP is routinely approved for adjustment applicants.

The form instructions state if an answer is not applicable or none, then to type in N/A. If you have no intended departure date or length of trip, then N/A would also work as an answer. Handwriting in Unknown seems to continue to work well though.
