The reason I post this topic is because of all the snide, condescending, and just plain rude posts I read on VJ. I'm guessing that most of the people that post like that don't know any other members personally. At least that's what I'm hoping. If that's not the case them maybe they are just as rude in person. My wife and I know two other VJ couples personally and we try to conduct ourselves on these forums as if we were talking to people face to face. I wish more people would do the same.

hypocrit - a person who feigns some desirable or publicly approved attitude, especially one whose private life, opinions, or statements belie his or her public statements.

Pet Peeve for 2011 - supercilious, contemptuous, arrogant, attitudes.

You aren't the only one who holds contempt for that kind of attitude though I am guilty of it when I'm annoyed and forget to take a while to re-read what I'm posting.

That said.. I do note that some of the attitudes I've seen are also perpetuated by people who aren't apparently going through the visa process like a lot of us and are only here to debate politics and religion (which can be done on other sites). Take a look at the Hot Topics forum, look at some of the actual users and you'll realise their sole post history (at least on the accounts they use now) is limited to that forum only.

I agree, most of us come here for help with the Visa process, because we found some one

we love that we want to spend our lives with. We come her for answers, for some people this

is a daunting experience, it's complicated and there is not a whole lot of information put out

by the government. I myself, check this site everyday looking for something that I may have

over looked, forgotten or just don't know. For example, I didn't know there was an expiration

for the cenomar. My fiancewould have shown up at theinterview in October with an outdated

Cenomar. Thanks to VJ and its posts, she will have an updated one. Thanks VJ and its

members..and lets treat people even if we don't know them personally like we would want

to be treated ourselves!

Meeting VJ Members in Person Besides Your Partner

I've thrown 2 events here, one in Dallas, another in Plano.

No one showed.

Since then, I've no interest to meet anyone who's a member here at VJ.

Why? Everyone's busy, no one's on my schedule.

or - perhaps it's just that folk think I'm a rude sumb|tch and can't be bothered.

PS - my partner isn't a member here.

We knew one of the couples before they were members here and I told them about the site.

We met another phil/am couple just recently. I mentioned the site and they were already members.

We've never tried to meet any members in person solely from ouir connection on VJ.

Oh, I used to have an interest, you betcha.

After chasing an expedite on the I-130 with a NOID issued on top of it, I have been too shell-shocked to give a toss, to be honest.

Still, was a personal decision, and I'm sticking to it.

Oh wait, my poll vote isn't correct. Technically I've met two, but one is a personal friend from long before VJ.

I'm open to meeting anyone though. :)

I love a guy who looks like he could be on Criminal Minds as either an agent or a killer.

Funny, you're entire post is rude and condescending. It's hard to see the forest through the trees I guess. I wouldn't want to know someone in real life that's as judgemental as you appear to be on the internet.

Did you ever stop to think that you might be overly sensitive? Too many people get their undies in a bunch over meaningless words on a computer screen.

Stop being rude. It gives us Massachusetts liberals a bad name.

And I've never met my wife in person.

I've lived with someone from VJ.

I've gone on holiday with someone from VJ.

I've met somewhere in the region of 15-20 VJ people and I am an unrepentant trash-talking meanie!
