because me my case was trandsrred to the uscis local office in jannuary 23 2014, and i still waiting , so i wonder why

Could previous marriage and divorce be a reason for delay? Or having petitioned for a spouse previously could be a reason for additional checks? Just wondering and don't understand why a small number of petitions from Jan, Feb and March are being held up or by passed........ What could be the reason, because if USCIS needs any additional information they easily send out an RFE and get what is needed.... Just don't understand......

sounds like a good idea....this would be really helpful for the people whose cases are on hold..... If we have a reasonable sample size, we could derive some sought of understanding, and analyze if USCIS has a specific pattern or procedure in handling such petitions........

Currently, US citizens are waiting in excess of 10 months for their I-130 and I-129F petitions to be adjudicated, due to a backlog of over 400,000 cases. Asking the spouses, parents, and children of aliens to wait to see their loved ones, while illegal immigrants are quickly granted legal status, is unacceptable and unlawful, as the Immigration and Naturalization Act mandates US authorities to give first priority to the immediate family members of US citizens.

The USCIS must give priority to the applications for legal entry to the spouses, children, and fiance(e)s of US citizens. The USCIS must dictate that each month it will adjudicate a certain percentage of US citizen relative and fiance(e) petitions, as this is the priority which the law demands these petitioners be given."

Ugh, my MIL had a seizure today. We don't know what's going on with her, but she had a TIA a few years back, so I'm actually pretty worried about her health. If it deteriorates any more, we're going to wind up having to go back to NL for a little while.

Kaylara, I know what that feels like. My spouse had a cerebellar infarct (stroke) last summer when I was in the US and she was in Australia. Talk about a terrible situation! Best of luck to your partner, and to your MIL.

congressman told my husband that NEBRASKA center told him our case was being reviewing by homeland security so this suppose to be the first stage of the processing time and they just started to check backgrounds like ####### don't kno how much longer it will tale, btw no previous marriages no nothing first time marrying no children no criminal record i don't kno wat else could be happening

There was some suggestion that certain areas of the country were waiting longer in certain service centers. It does seem to me like a lot of New Englanders/Mid Atlantic people are waiting longer than from other places, but I'm not sure exactly how accurate that is.
