NBC ... what the different ?

If your case is at a field office it will come from there, or might have some suffix letters.

Man, wow. Have you made any inquiries or called and talked to Tier 2? You are one of this threads longest waiting member at this time. There is no excuse for this stupidity...Have you talk with Congressional office? We're a month behind you and we're hoppin' mad. I'd be hostile if I were seeing all the decisions made after your NOA...Wow I am both sorry for you and discouraged at the same time...

I already emailed them thru my .Gov email

I doubt they actually read their own emails, they probably have someone who vets them first.

I have been checking the process time, it looks like my local office is now process cases filed a week earlier than mine. I'm thinking, when my case falls into their process time, is it possible for me to call them and do a request based on that? would that make a difference? anyone?

To us local field office times don't mean anything. All of our apps are at the National Benefits Center. They get sent out to field offices but not necessarily local. In other words we have nowhere to check what NPIW cases are being processed at any given time. Our only information source are other NPIW recipients that kindly post here when they are approved, from there we can more or less figure out what app dates are being processed, but we have seen some off the wall dates as well so sometimes we can't even guess what the USCIS is up to.

Holy! Hopefully you see some good news soon my friend! I've been waiting a long time, but not quite as long as you.

- Filed April 08, 2014

- NOA1 Notice Date April 11, 2014

- NPIW Letter dated July 10th

I personally haven't contacted USCIS yet. Mostly because I'm not really sure what I'd be asking, or if it would matter. Two days till I can send off my EAD renewal for the 120 day window.

Problem is that is what our "friends" at USCIS want most of us to do. Nothing. They'll infer or outright say, "...it's a privelege, so just sit back and wait..." I say garbage and you should too. What do you ask? How's about where is my green card? It's been 10 months and that is long enough, so what's up? And don't stop at Tier 1, they know very little. You want to tier 2 and get the straight skinny. That's what I would ask and it is what I keep asking them when I call them...Proactivity may not get you the card right away, but at least you feel better after you vent and then come here and tell us about it. We're listening...

Your local office processing time only matters if your case has gone there. A lot of our cases are still at the NBC, and some cases are being sent to other field offices (e.g. a person in California had his case in the Detroit field office).

If there has been a service request, do the last the letters of the reference number refer to the office it's being processed in? I've got SR***CLM as mine, wondering if the CLM means it's in Columbus, the place I had my fingerprints taken.

AOS:

NOA: June 16th, 2014

NPIW: September 29th, 2014

Received Green Card: June 13th, 2015.

RoC:

California Service Center

Submitted: March 22nd, 2017

Completed: October 5th, 2018

N-400:

Submitted: December 11th, 2019

Biometrics: December 31st, 2019

Interview: April 22nd, 2020

Interview descheduled and now waiting for further updates...

Hopefully the potential DHS shutdown won't slow things down even more. Feeling really sad for all government workers who could be affected by it... :-\

I don't think USCIS are adversely affected by shut downs as they are funded through the exorbitant fees they charge. If I remember rightly, during the last government shut down they seemed to process cases quicker!

For any fellow oldsters (like me) that remember when you used to have to buy admission and then use tickets to get on rides at Disneyland (and that was way back - prior to 1982 to be exact); they would call this an "E" ticket ride, though if I didn't have to ride, I wouldn't waste the ticket...
