I can't believe it's our turn to file for citizenship lol. Everytime I remember that I get happy because we are almost at the end of the journey.

Basically this is what I did put into my package and I did put extra for the immigration because I'm filing based on 3 years rulle (marriage to a USC):

N400

Money order

copy of green card

Birth certificate of my wife.

Birth certificate for my kids

marriage certificate.

tax returns (2012,2011, 2010)+ W2's

3 months bank statement

3 months phone bill

15 photos of me and my wife in different occasions.

2 passport photos.

Lease

Life insurance

Selective service

That's all I'm sending in my packet. For the interview I will be taking with me:

Car insurances, car registration, car title, rental house, medical and dental coverage for my wife and I and the kids (through my work), and a copy of all I sent with the N400 and few extra bills that came after I filed the N400. The bills I'm sending with the N400 are the last 3 bills I got before I filed for N400, they are not separated as some people do (I guess it's up to you if you want to do that or not).

If you think of something else that you think I didn't include let me know, If you think I'm sending to much let me know as well so I can know that I'm sending to much lol. I'm trying to help the officer to know that our marriage is legit and sometimes I get afraid that I'm overwhelming them lol.

Look at USCIS publication M-477 (document checklist)

It has everything you need.

The instructions to N-400 and the guides list a number of "or", and I read that as alternative documents. I was not planning to submit the lease, the car title, the car insurance, etc. I put together our tax return transcripts for the past 3 years and a few bank statements spanning the past 3 years (one every 6 months). Do you think we should send everything as if it was "and" instead of "or"? I have no problem with that, but these guys already have everything from AOS and ROC.

Hello everyone.We are filling base 3 years marriage.I read what we need bank accounts,IRS transcripts.

I did read that other peoples sent some extra papers,some others everything for 3 years so i am getting a little bit confused here,to what to send.

I was thinking to send Irs transcripts,and state transcripts for 3 years,few of the back accounts.(since they have everything from AOS and ROC)

We do have some updates(life insurance,home security system on both names and a huge dentist bill,that my hubby payed over 10.000$).Should we include these too?

Also do i need the driving records?I was never stopped(no ticket or warning in 3 years)

my window opens on september 28th, which falls on saturday. I think that I will probably be counted toward october more then september. Anyways Good luck to everybody.

I didn't send anything extra. I only sent the items asked for on M-477. I took the word "OR" to mean exactly that. I do plan to bring additional items to the interview.

I know that you don't have to but I just wanted to give the officer enough time to review my file before the interview so later I wouldn't have to take with me a lot of proof.

I know we are all used to "proving" our relationships up to this point. But at this stage of the game the only thing we have to prove is the time in the U.S.A (3 or 5 years depending on the circumstances of our application.) ... and of course passing the citizenship test!

So I don't think there is much to stress about. I just sent what they asked for, no more - no less.

But send what makes you feel comfortable.

If someone can add us to the list, I'd appreciate it...we sent ours off today to the Dallas lockbox. I am assuming our local office will be Newark, NJ. I too only sent what they asked for, 3 years tax transcripts, 1 bank statement from Aug 2013 and another bank statement from Aug 2012 and paid the fees with a check drawn from our joint account. I almost included utility bills and copies of both of our drivers liscences but chose against it as they weren't asked for in the instructions. I would have liked to have sent a copy of our lease but we sent the original off with the RoC paperwork, I suppose if they want a copy of the lease I can obtain one. We actually werent in a rush to do the citizenship and although we did file under the 3 year rule, the window for filing under the 5 year rule actually would be anytime after Oct 1 2013 for us. Anyhows, good luck to us all and I guess it's back to checking VisaJourney everyday for updates on this thread, fun stuff !
