I feel very dumb right now: What does it actually mean when we say front load and side load the documents?

Is it the order of documents based on their importance?

Thanks,

"Front load" is VJ vernacular for including as much relationship evidence as possible with the I-130 form and required documents when the petition is initially filed.

sideload is including more relationship evidence with the DS-230 IV package sent to the NVC.

Maybe a silly question but, is it better for us to side load?

What do you mean by better? If you included nothing at the beginning and made it through, then yes. If you included relationship evidence at the beginning, it doesn't hurt to add more if you want. We didn't add more and it was okay. For a high fraud country it's pretty much imperative to add more at the NVC.

OK - some time thingies for folk recently married and filed an I-130 within 3 months of marriage date.

First, the I-130 instructions list 6 types of evidence to submit with the I-130, covering bonafide marriage evidence.

For those newly married, Primary evidence may not be so easily attainable, you just married.

Tempus fugit, time passes, the I-130 is approved 4 to 10 months later, and

you amassed more bonafide marriage evidence. You can (it's purely your choice, but recommended for High Fraud Consulates like China, Nigeria and Mexico) submit more evidence with the DS-230/260. [that's sideloading fwiw]

Now - what's all this about, you ask? Getting evidence into the casefile is USEFUL, as a Vice-Consul will review it prior to interview day.

and that was the point.

Second - To be reviewed before interview day.

Why? Most Vice-Consuls have about 11 minutes, max, to review anything you wish to hand-carry in on interview day.

Third - Now - please - don't get scared by this stuff. It's your marriage. It's on you to generate the evidence.

Here's what I was able to amass about 30 days after hitting US Soil after marriage:

(Note how old that post is. I knew about frontloading ages past, it's a China thing, to be certain. But many folk make it through without it, and that's ok)

For us, I just continued to amass the evidence. Sure - it's a PITA, but for us, Guangzhou IV is a tough sumb\tch... For us, Tempus Fugit, and I submitted more than 5 years worth of stuff. I have doubts that it travelled from USCIS Dallas to NVC, so I submitted it again. It cost us 2 to 3 weeks extra at NVC for the stuff to get added (I think I'm a unique case, really) but IMO, it was worth it.

Time will tell, and soon (we've an interview next week)

OK LA - go forth and conquer.

Bonus Points for reading the I-130 instructions and the link I provided.

Thank you for tour reply! Not coming from a high fraud country (U.K.). I was just wondering what I could side load I sent plenty of evidence everything on the list and then some. We have been married since 11/11 and showed co-mingling of finances (We share an account on a English bank in England and she has my U.S. bank card), lots of pics, court case for the right to remove my stepson, email, Face Book correspondence . Just wasn't sure on what else they could be looking for. I guess it would make sense to show that you are still a couple and moving forward. Thank you.

Like darnell mentioned too, do not assume everything that went to the USCIS will make it to the NVC and to the consulate. It doesn't hurt to add more, "just in case."
