So the drama continues..yesterday he offered to go pick it up yesterday or today and they said no, you paid for home delivery and we need to deliver it. We were correct to be skeptical about them delivering it between 8 and noon. This morning the automated message changed to between 9am and 1pm. So he waited - about 1pm, they called and said it would not be delivered today afterall. My fiance was stubborn and fought that - the manager said she'd look into what happened and call him back in 30 minutes. She did and I guess she figured he wasn't going to take no for an answer so she said the driver would go back to the office and get it (it was never on the truck afterall) and deliver it by 5pm today.

He's a little more confident now..the second he gets it he'll book a flight for tomorrow...I guess my advice would be to stick up for yourself if the courier tries to jerk you around...

hopefully we have it this afternoon. ugh.

Update- he just got it in his hands!! :)

Turned out it was not the courier's mistake...the Embassy had badly misspelled his first and last name and put a post code on there from Waterloo England (he's near Cardiff and it should have gone to Brigend). It delivered to Waterloo yesterday and then they sent it over to Brigend today but it arrived after the couriers had left for the day...if he hadn't insisted, they wouldn't have delivered it until Tuesday, flying on Wednesday..now he'll be here tomorrow! dancin5hr.gif

thanks LC! I can't wait - it will be almost three months since we've seen each other which is the longest we've ever gone! Now I'm off to book a wedding venue for this year's event - the place I thought we were going to use got booked right before us so my sister and I are visiting three today and we'll choose one..my fiance left it up to me so we're good :)

when are you flying out?

the embassy MISSPELLED the name? wow.

I know - we were both shocked..we said as much as they make us do everything perfect and by the letter..and they didn't even send it to the right country...thankfully he'll be about to land this time tomorrow barring any emergency or new delay. seems hard to believe. hope you hear something soon. :)

It was 3 months on the 22nd since we saw each other, also the longest we've gone!

I'm hoping to fly out early September, I still need to sell my car and I figure that might take a week or two. I can't wait for the airport reunion hug happy.png

That hug is so sweet. It was so brilliant going into his arms, knowing that I wouldn't have to leave again. Knowing I was there for us to get finally married. We have considered passing by the airport on my 90th day here and sticking out tongues out at the airport! However, we are a bit too busy for that!

Ah, so not long -that's great! - we decided to let his parents sell his car in a bit...he needed it until the end and when he visited, he could drive my car with his UK driver's license and his Int'l driver's permit as extra...as long as he had insurance in his own country, I didn't have to add him onto mine for him to drive the car regularly...once we are married next month, i'm getting a new car and he'll take that one over for awhile until it dies or he gets what he wants. I've never kept a car this long but those Acuras go on forever - Honda makes a solid car. :D then we'll sell his car back there and get the insurance sorted here...I have a really good company and they may drop me once he's added and I didn't want to deal with that right away...

I'm sure the hug will be what you expect - it's the best ever as well as all the rest of them yesterday. :)

Thanks AZ!! Indeed it was lol! :D

hehe on the sticking tongues out! :D we felt the same way AG! :)

oh btw - I'm not sure if it was this thread where we were talking about the process at POE - I told my fiance to write something up so I could give a review..it was funny though - he had Officer Ruiz again - the guy who grilled him last time when he was just visiting. He chuckled a bit and the guy said something and Alex said "you interviewed me before' and he said "what happened" and he said "you let me in" and he kind of grunted. :D he's all business lol...but all went smoothly. :)

Hoping so much to have the visa in my hands by the end of this week! :) My Fiance Scotty called me tonight and his brother in-law told him that if by the end of this week we haven't received anything then to give him a call and he will sort it out for us as he works in Washington DC in the U.S Government. :)
