Hello folks. I got a letting confirming my petition approval on 07/22/2013. The letter said they were forwarding it to the consulate, but I'm aware that it goes through the NVC first. How long does it usually take before she will received her package in the Mail from the consulate in Manila? Will the NVC send me any notice saying that the petition has passed through NVC? It has been 3 weeks and she hasn't received anything as of yet.

Your petition is probably in Manila right now, or at least it's on the way to Manila.

Don't wait for the U.S. Embassy Manila to send your fiancée their letter telling her she is eligible to schedule an interview and giving her instructions on how to prepare for the interview. That letter can take forever to arrive. Some people never receive it.

Instead, call the NVC today and get your MNL case number. Once you have your MNL case number, you can pay the visa application fee at BPI. The next day you can schedule the interview appointment. Then, you can complete the medical. You can even complete the CFO seminar.

If you wasn't to read the Embassy's letter, you can do so here: http://photos.state.gov/libraries/manila/19452/public/Revised%20K1%20Instruction_rtf2_rtf2_001.pdf

wow...thank u so much for the reply. SO once we have a mnl case # its already in their system and we can move forward. We already have all the paperwork ready for the interview but does she needs the medical exam first before the actual interview, right?

^^^ Chinook has been here since March 2009 and she's still waiting for it. She's beginning to think it may never arrive.ClockWatch2.giflaughing.gif

^^^ You're wasting time! Get your MNL case number and get rolling today.

She can complete the medical anytime after you schedule the interview appointment all the way up until about a week before the interview.

Ok guys...I just called the NVC. I had to wait 20 mins to talk to someone. I gave the lady my uscis receipt # and approval date and she said she did not see anything yet in their system and that she could not tell me anything unless its been 8 WEEKS! after the approval date. Does it really take that long for it to push through the NVC...my goodness that's 2 more freaking months. This whole process is so very ridiculous.

Ignore the nonsense from the customer service rep. Call the NVC every day until they give you your MNL case number. Your MNL case number is imminent.

Tahoma is right! Don't wait for your fiancée to receive her packet. She might not even receive one and if she does it could take a month or two from the petition approval date.

My fiancée received her packet two months after her petition was approved. They seem to be sending a new packet that includes a copy of the I129F petition with supplements and a copy of the DV pamphlet they usually hand out during the interview.

Good luck!! :)

10-20 & 11-14-2007 = Phoned ImmOffs; "still pending."

12-11-2007 = 180 days; file is "between workstations, may be early Jan."; touches 12/11 & 12/12.

12-18-2007 = Call; file is with Division 9 ofcr. (bckgrnd check); e-prompt to shake it; touch.

12-19-2007 = NOA2 by e-mail & web, dated 12-18-07 (187 days; 201 per VJ); in mail 12/24/07.

01-09-2008 = File from USCIS to NVC, 1-4-08; NVC creates file, 1/15/08; to consulate 1/16/08.

04-29-2008 = Fiancee's 4-min. consular interview, 8:30 a.m.; much evidence brought but not allowed to be presented (consul: "More proof! Second interview! Bring your fiance!").

05-05-2008 = Infuriating $12 call to non-English-speaking consulate appointment-setter.

05-06-2008 = Better $12 call to English-speaker; "joint" interview date 6/30/08 (my selection).

06-30-2008 = Stokes Interrogations w/Ecuadorian (not USC); "wait 2 weeks; we'll mail her."

08-27-08 = Phoned consulate (they "couldn't find" our file); visa DHL'd 8/28; in hand 9/1; through POE on 10/9 with NO hassles(!).

We were also approved on Jul 22, and I call everyday, a week after that.. and still no MNL # for us too. We were trying to push the interview at the end of the month, but I guess that's not gonna happen. Some people who were approved after Jul 22 already got their MNL #. It sucks how unorganized this process is.

On October 2013, our I-129F Refused under 221(g)

So our son and I went back home to the PHL..

Ok guys...so what I'm hearing is this...we don't need to wait for her to receive any packet from the embassy in Manila. We can go ahead and schedule an interview and complete the med exam after a MNL case # is issued. Will she just need to bring ALL the docs at one time to the interview? I thought I read somewhere that the embassy wants you to send in some preliminary documents first before the interview. Could someone please clarify?

No, you don't need to wait for the packet. Once you received the MNL #, make sure you make an appointment for the interview then print the letter out to take to SLEC for the medical. Apparently, sometimes they ask for the NVC letter containing that MNL #, but sometimes, all they ask for is the interview appointment letter from the embassy. Your fiance needs to fill up 3 forms, and that's what she needs to bring at the interview along with her passport, the i-129F copy that you sent her, cenomar and other important documents she needs for the interview. I haven't heard anybody sending any preliminary docs at the embassy.
