I am at a lost of word on how they determine what's get done first, what is their priorities and what is more important as far as visa. It's clearly not a first come first served basis. It's all random its's ridiculous. They need to change the system. If it's broke change it. If it's not then don't change it. Most will agree that it need changes. One voice or one little step can make a big difference.}

You are absolutely right, this system and the entire process of NVC needs to be changed. I actually wrote a letter to senator saying this is unacceptable that NVC takes such a long time to review files and their system is outdated. NVC in chaos for weeks due to new AOS, which simply changed formatting of I-864 by USCIS, delayed most people by over a month which should not be case to serve the citizens.

Anyways, Looking at your timeline, I would urge you to:

Contact your embassy and find out why there is a delay to get an interview date (despite being a good citizen, paying taxes and it is imperative that agencies that run in taxes paid by citzens, serve their citizens, being with one's IR is one's human right, dont you think?).
Involve your local congressman or senator to find out why there is a delay to get IV interview dates. Looking at your embassy wait time for Non-IV is 10 days and student visas is just 2 days.

But again, choice is yours, if you have not done above two things, I would do it, because three and half months to wait for interview is long time and I think I would go insane just waiting for it....

You have been waiting since long, longer than most of us here and I understand what you must be feeling. First they did not clarify about AOS. Many sent new one and that delayed the whole process. I see others are getting RFE's which does not make sense at all. 2 cases with same error on AOS, 1 gets RFE and other is approved with no RFE. Some are asked to bring AOS to interview and some are asked to send it to NVC. There should be some kind of process in place where everyone is treated equally. There should be transparent and easy to understand process. Total anarchy and undemocratic nature of NVC.

One person from VJ filed their petition around the same time as I did and still haven't even been approved in the USCIS stage. My heart goes out to that person. She waited for a long time and no adjudicator even look at her filed yet. That's unacceptable and unfair. Changes need to be made. Even those who had it easy, believe it's not fair the way the immigration process work over here.

True, Non IV wait time for interview appointment 2- 7 days at most embassies.

I dont see the whole point of NVC, when USCIS approves the petition especially for Immediate relatives. Since embassy has final say on the documents, NVC is really waste of time. Our file took over 3 months to get out of NVC, this is unbelievable, as they had issues like new delay in creating Case #, IIN, billing, delay because they didnt know how to review AOS, and delay because their system was down etc..etc...all non-value added stuff, while USCIS might actually do the research and background checks etc

Let me try and explain this. All NVC is a document intact center. they do not approve anything. They are the second stage of the process.

You can not compare our Visa's to a K1 or Visitor or anything else because we are actually immigrating. So we basically are getting priority to not have to do all that extra work K1's do.

Over 200,000 of all petitions last year were IR1/CR1 thats alot.

Now on the subject of Embassy that in itself is a big thing. One many of us have no idea what is going on with embassy.

I know many times Lagos was closed due to bomb threats. Well 400 to 500 visitor visas alone they conduct daily every day Monday through thursday. Can you imagine.

Do you even know how many times your embassy closed. I know in 2011 Islamabad was closed for 6 months due to some issues. Its not like the government will call you.

Egypt as you know has had alot of happenings. Well embassy was just opened yesterday after 2 weeks closed, You think scheduling interviews is their top order.

Remember some of these embassies are under siege DAILY.

Does everyone go to their Embassy website to see bulletins and updates whats going on? You can always also call DOS they maybe be able to tell you whats up with the embassy. like it closed or something.

I am in no way saying the government is perfect and things don't need improving. Personally if they would hire me i could get NVC rockin like they use to a year ago when they didn't have contractors but government employees.

Just hang in their be patient. It's not personal. And when you think its just unfair and too long look at my dear friend here and Thank God it wasn't you.

One thing you have to realize since August 15, 2012 we I-130 go to local offices. there office may be slow. It is what it is. They could be doing background check that is taking a bit.

My friend got approved at USCIS in 42 days. They kept her petition right at NBC that was Dec to feb. And yet it took 87 days just to get her petition to NVC. She is waiting now for case complete after a checklist. Thats the mess they need to do better.

The bundling of petitions and losing peoples documents and USCIS not forwarding your whole petition (yep thats right, they send what they want. thats why as extra evidence they got my whole initial petition again along with 1200 more pages of evidence). It's a mess that this service centers denies because you forgot to add a piece of paper. And this one RFE's you for same.

It's like immigration do you even know what you are doing. Goodness.

Immigration reform means great things for the economy

Now that lawmakers in the Senate have come together to pass a bipartisan piece of legislation to fix our broken immigration system, it's up to the House of Representatives to do the same.

And that makes this the perfect time to learn more about the issue.

I really don't know since your embassy covers so many countries so probably busy. maybe don't know sorry .
