K1 - I-129F tracking and a minor freak out!

Hi,

So my fiance and I lodged our K1-Petition I-129F and it was documented to be received on the 15th Feb at the Texas office. My alien # was apparently assigned on the 22nd Feb. We hadn't heard anything for months until recently - on the 21st June we got the below email.

From: USCIS <www.uscis.gov under Check Processing Times.

*** Please do not respond to this e-mail message.

Sincerely,

The U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS)

My huge freak out came from breaking down the wording and the fact we haven't received a NOA of any kind. Are we suppose to have one by now? My second freak out is the wording "we transferred this I129F PETITION FOR FIANCE(E) to another office for processing because they now have jurisdiction over the case" Does this mean that potentially our paperwork went to the wrong office and has been pushed to where it needs to be OR that it is just moving through the general motions and on track?

On the basis of the general average of the initial petition process etc i hope to hear of an approval in the next 30 days or so... FINGERS CROSSED, but this may not be the case if the paperwork has been rerouted and we may have to wait even longer than expected.

Can anyone please put my mind at ease with any kind of information?

There are a number of things in motion too which are frustrating. I am visiting my fiance for 2 1/2 months in September - November (and wanted an NOA to prove I am going through the official channels but visiting) and was hoping to have the petition side of things home and hosed by then and in the throws of finalising the actual VISA side of things and an interview at the Sydney Consulate by the time I get back. I have received a redundancy (this is a fantastic thing) from my current employer with my termination date being on the 1st Sept. If this whole process is pushed out by months sadly I am going to have to linger in Australia for a hell of a lot longer than I was initially expecting and potentially have to find a job in the short term when I return from the US!

I have looked over a multitude of the forums, links and processes and the flow chart etc. I am just a little concerned now the more i read and thought i should just ask the general population for any info!

Thanks in advance for any assistance anyone can offer.

I should add, we have had an initial I-797C Notice Of Action on Feb 20 - Partner was looking for paper work that had NOA1 on it and said initially he never received such a thing headbonk.gif

That was your noa1.

To clarify: the Notice of Actions aren't called NOA-1, NOA-2. They're form I-797C, Notice of Action

We just call em NOA 1 or 2 cause...well, first notice of action, second notice of action...and there's so darned many forms to remember numbers for!

Yes, I personally knew this already (not the official I-# though). Unfortunately I am a little bit of a control freak when it comes to things like this and my partner is a bit more relaxed. So when I initially asked about it he didn't put two and two together (despite me spelling it out to him).

I have read a few more discussions around that large chunks of people are being rerouted. Our letter doesn't specify which office it has gone to. It says "local office" so does that mean it has actually gone to Boston?

Hard to say. I'm sure you'll find out soon - if you hear nothing in a couple weeks give a call.

Sucks being a control freak in this situation - there's literally nothing you can do.

Yes it does suck being a control freak! We are going to wait 2 weeks from the email notification regarding the rerouting to see which service centre our paperwork ends up and attempt to go from there.

To be honest, I can see why so many people immigrate illegally with the wait times and hoops you have to go through!

Well you know all the cliche sayings I'm sure. Good things come to those who wait, absence makes the heart grow fonder, blah blah blah lol.

What doesn't kill you makes you stronger. Yes it sucks but...you're going through this together. You'll see each other stressed, panicked, happy, sad, stressed, impatient, stressed...if you can't go through this as a couple...there's some warning signs right there. Gives you a bit of extra time and seeing each other in the stressy times.

(Yeah I'm still waiting for Jesse to go "heck no she's crazy!!" And run screaming lol)

I've been receiving a chain of emails from USCIS about being transferred to a different office, all of which differed in wording. Take a look at the two separate emails from June 21:

(1)

On June 21, 2013, we transferred this I129F PETITION FOR FIANCE(E) to another office for processing because they now have jurisdiction over the case. We sent you a notice of this transfer. Please follow any instructions on this notice. You will be notified by mail when a decision is made, or if the office needs something from you. If you move while this case is pending, please use our Change of Address online tool to update your case with your new address or call our customer service center at 1-800-375-5283.

(2)

On June 21, 2013, we transferred your I129F, PETITION FOR FIANCE(E), to your local USCIS Office for further processing. The new office has jurisdiction over your case and will send you a decision as soon as processing is complete or you will be notified if further information or action is needed. If you move, please use our Change of Address online tool to update your case with your new address.

The emails started to worry me a bit, so I decided to give them a call. And according to the automated system, our paperwork was transferred to St. Albans Vermont... Confused much? Yep! All this time, I'm pretty sure its been in Vermont!!!!! I figured if the documents were transferred, the office would be Texas. So either their automated system is down, or needs updating, whatever the case may be, I received another email (identical to yours) this evening, about a hour ago:

(3)

The I129F PETITION FOR FIANCE(E) was transferred and is now being processed at a USCIS office. You will be notified by mail when a decision is made, or if the office needs something from you. If you move while this case is pending, please use our Change of Address online tool to update your case with your new address or call our customer service center at 1-800-375-5283.

Most of everyone on the forum seems to think the transfer (not sure where at this point) is a good thing, so I'm trying to be optimistic. Our applications are literally taking a journey together to some other office. Destination? Who knows - as long as an approval makes it to our doorstep or inbox before the 2nd coming, I'll be satisfied! We'll probably receive our NOA2 on the same date, if not then the same week. Good Luck to you!!! Wish me the same :-)

It all is so confusing and hard to follow. I wish you the best of luck BekkyBoo! I guess you just have to treat ANY communication as a good thing with this whole process right now!

At the bottom of the recent mailed version of the letter it states our application was initially at Vermont and has been transferred to Texas. From other forums so many people are saying Texas has ramped up and is churning them around rather efficiently. So here's hoping!
