Hi,

Just wondering if anyone is currently having issues filling out the DS-156 online?

I have been trying for days using: http://evisaforms.state.gov/default.asp

I complete the form and when I click continue I get this error. (screenshot attached also)

The website cannot display the page HTTP 500
Most likely causes:
  • The website is under maintenance.
  • The website has a programming error.

I have tired on 4 different computer, using two different internet connections.

I have tired IE 8, IE 9, IE 10, Chrome, Firefox, Safari - and Acrobat Reader is installed.

Any one else having an issue or is it just me?

I just did it on Firefox and got this:

An error occurred on the server when processing the URL. Please contact the system administrator

I then tried IE and got:

The website cannot display the page HTTP 500

Most likely causes:
•The website is under maintenance.
•The website has a programming error.

It's not a normal response so I suggest you wait a day or so. Probably down for maintenance.

I hadn't read of this issue in some time, I had thought they had finally fixed that issue. You have tried all the other browsers, which is what I always recommend. Have you cleared the cache on your computer?

I suggest clearing your cache, making sure you're not connected to a router or using a firewall and using IE (US government really likes IE... LOL)

Hi,

Yep, cleared my cache, tested on multiple computers and internet connections.

checked firewalls, routers etc...even got a friend in another country to try it and the same thing.

NikiR - what happens if you load the form and just click continue, do you get a HTTP 500 error? http://evisaforms.st...gov/default.asp then DS-156.

I received my packet 3 over a week ago and they wanted this document immediately. I am getting worried they will cancel my k-1 request.

I think I am going to give them a call and see if they can help. I am getting worried.

THIS IS CRAZY! MY FIANCE'S INTERVIEW IS ON TUESDAY AND SHE CAN'T COMPLETE THIS FORM ONLINE!

We don't know what to do. I made phone calls all day, after a few calls I was told to call the first person that I called. WE dont know if we should cancel her interview or go just with a printed ds-156 with no barcode. any advice to give?

well in some ways im glad its not just me....but it is frustrating.

benjamin. - im not sure what you can do, i would take a print out of the form without hitting continue, and then one of the screen after you hit continue.

its about all you can do.

I will be calling my consulate on Monday to ask for advice, and will also emailing them.

I called the consulate in china today and I couldn't even get a word in to the operator before she said she couldn't help me, then the call was over...

All of the people that I called today told me to call someone else and by the end of my day the last person I called told me to call the first person that I called.

All of the people that I taked to were cold and all unsympathetic. It is so sad. My fiance is going to go to her interview with only a non-coded ds 156. wish us luck!

Does anyone else get the pop-up about not having the minimum requirements?

Your system may not meet the minimum requirements. The following problem(s) have been detected:
* Your browser does not appear to meet the minimum required version.
* You do not appear to have the minimum required version of Adobe Acrobat installed.

I KNOW I meet the requirements, but this could be part of the problem.
