Scheduling K-1 Interview and Being There With Fiance

I have filed an I-129F petition for my fiance who is from Manila. My NOA1 is April 8. We are hoping for an NOA2 during the late summer.

My question is twofold:

1. Can my fiance (the beneficiary) pick a date for the interview at the Manila Consulate when scheduling or is one automatically generated for her?

2. How crucial is it that I be there with her during the interview in terms of improving chances of approval in the Manila Consulate?

I ask these questions because I really want to be there with her during the interview, and the best times for me to come is during the last week of September/first week of October, the last week of November, and the last week of December/first week of January. If the interview has to be held on a different date, that will make it harder for me, timewise and financially, to come (although I will likely still make that sacrifice).

Hi

1. Yes she can pick her own interview date based on available slots

2. It is SO GOOD if you join her in her interview in Manila. When I was in USEM Manila I saw lots of petitioner joined there beneficiary during the interview..

BEST of LUCK for the two of you! :)

♥♥God gave you to me. I asked Him why, He said, “Because he can fill your life like no one else can.” ♥♥I love you and I really miss you so much luv!♥♥Hope to be with you soon and have a happy family!♥♥

If for some reason you can't be there, it's relatively painless and Aya did it without me (even though I wanted to be there).

But yes like everyone else said you can pick the date so you can probably pick something that coincides with your available time off.

Although you sound like you have limited time, what are your plans after the interview? Fly back and leave her till she gets her passport back? She could get it in as little as 2 days or as long as 20 days so you probably shouldn't set concrete plans back until she has it in hand.

01/15/12 - Sent Aya a message on a dating site
03/10/12 - We became "exclusive"
03/15/12 - We told each other "I love you"
08/17/12 - 2 week trip to the Philippines to be with her
08/27/12 - I asked her to marry me (in Cebuano), she cried and said yes
09/02/12 - I came back to the USA

Started on the paperwork

09/22/12 - Mailed I-129F
09/25/12 - Saw on USPS that the package was delivered in Texas
09/28/12 - NOA1
10/08/12 - Received hard copy NOA1
12/19/12 - CFO Counseling Session (to get it out of the way)
04/27/13 - NOA2
05/06/13 - NVC Received and MNL # assigned
05/21/13 - Medical Exam Day
06/04/13 - Interview Day
xx/xx/xx - Visa Arrived
xx/xx/xx - Off to Chicago

Yeah, she has other things she has to do that are non-visa related to her work in the fall and with family, so the plan is for her to come after Christmas. If she doesn't have her interview until then, then she will come back with me. Otherwise she will come by herself.

Hi Steve, could you share what happened during Joan's interview? I couldn't find a link for that.

Thanks
