Hi Good day. To all VJ Filipina Members I would just like to know how long does it take for you to get your K-1 visa after you got approved at US Embassy Manila?

Could you also specify if you chose home delivery or pick-up?

Thank you very much:)

It varies depending on a lot of circumstances.

You can check out the processing times on the USCIS website for your processing center, this varies and is bound to change while your petition is being processed.

There also this thread which breaks down the factors that can effect your processing times.

There's this general thread, which will help you get an understanding of the process.

There's this nifty tool which will allow you to look up the history of users who submitted a timeline. You can search by processing center, visa type, beneficiary's country of origin, etc. I love this tool!

2013-03-29: Paid for a service through RapidVisa & began to prepare paperwork.
2013-04-11: Sent all the necessary documents to RapidVisa for review.
2013-04-12: Signed my application in red ink, so I had to overnight RapidVisa my application signed in BLUE ink.
2013-04-15: RapidVisa reviewed my application, found no fault and sent the I-129F Application to the Texas Lockbox.
2013-04-17: Electronic notification that the application was forwarded to the VT Service center.
2013-04-19: NOA-1 Received (snail mail) with the wrong country of birth for the foreign Partner. Notice date was 2013-04-15.

2013-04-19: Electronic Notification Received that an Alien Registration Number (ARN) was assigned to Foreign Partner.
2013-04-22: Called USCIS and corrected the typographical error on the NOA1.
2013-04-30: Received notification that the typographical error on the NOA1 has been corrected in the electronic system, but the error was minor and will not affect my application, as it is still valid.

... Waiting ...

*** Thread moved from K-1 Process forum to the Philippines regional subforum -- question is country-specific. ***

06-04-2007 = TSC stamps postal return-receipt for I-129f.

06-11-2007 = NOA1 date (unknown to me).

07-20-2007 = Phoned Immigration Officer; got WAC#; where's NOA1?

09-25-2007 = Touch (first-ever).

09-28-2007 = NOA1, 23 days after their 45-day promise to send it (grrrr).

10-20 & 11-14-2007 = Phoned ImmOffs; "still pending."

12-11-2007 = 180 days; file is "between workstations, may be early Jan."; touches 12/11 & 12/12.

12-18-2007 = Call; file is with Division 9 ofcr. (bckgrnd check); e-prompt to shake it; touch.

12-19-2007 = NOA2 by e-mail & web, dated 12-18-07 (187 days; 201 per VJ); in mail 12/24/07.

01-09-2008 = File from USCIS to NVC, 1-4-08; NVC creates file, 1/15/08; to consulate 1/16/08.

01-23-2008 = Consulate gets file; outdated Packet 4 mailed to fiancee 1/27/08; rec'd 3/3/08.

04-29-2008 = Fiancee's 4-min. consular interview, 8:30 a.m.; much evidence brought but not allowed to be presented (consul: "More proof! Second interview! Bring your fiance!").

05-05-2008 = Infuriating $12 call to non-English-speaking consulate appointment-setter.

05-06-2008 = Better $12 call to English-speaker; "joint" interview date 6/30/08 (my selection).

06-30-2008 = Stokes Interrogations w/Ecuadorian (not USC); "wait 2 weeks; we'll mail her."

07-2008 = Daily calls to DOS: "currently processing"; 8/05 = Phoned consulate, got Section Chief; wrote him.

08-07-08 = E-mail from consulate, promising to issue visa "as soon as we get her passport" (on 8/12, per DHL).

08-27-08 = Phoned consulate (they "couldn't find" our file); visa DHL'd 8/28; in hand 9/1; through POE on 10/9 with NO hassles(!).

But you are looking anywhere from 4-20 business days.

You may get it faster at 2GO in Mall of Asia (MOA) in Manila but it depends on how long it sits in Administrative Processing after the approval etc.

01/15/12 - Sent Aya a message on a dating site
03/10/12 - We became "exclusive"
03/15/12 - We told each other "I love you"
08/17/12 - 2 week trip to the Philippines to be with her
08/27/12 - I asked her to marry me (in Cebuano), she cried and said yes
09/02/12 - I came back to the USA

Started on the paperwork

09/22/12 - Mailed I-129F
09/25/12 - Saw on USPS that the package was delivered in Texas
09/28/12 - NOA1
10/08/12 - Received hard copy NOA1
12/19/12 - CFO Counseling Session (to get it out of the way)
04/27/13 - NOA2
05/06/13 - NVC Received and MNL # assigned
05/21/13 - Medical Exam Day
06/04/13 - Interview Day
xx/xx/xx - Visa Arrived
xx/xx/xx - Off to Chicago

Thank you very much, I chose pick-up at 2go Makati Branch since it's closer to my place, hopefully it will be quicker.

Thank you Louis and Aya, hopefully it will be quicker. My interview date would be on July 3 and I am just trying to get an idea how long does it take to receive my visa so that we can also plan for my flight schedule.

8th working day. Home delivery - Manila area. :)

Thank you RnL, could you share some questions that they've asked you during your interview? It will be very helpful. I'm preparing for my interview this coming July 3.

Thanks in advance.

Better verify that branch is open. My wife had planned to pick her visa up at a Makati branch only to find out from 2GO much later they had closed that office.

Do MOA it is quicker. http://blogs.usembassy.gov/philippines/?p=1533

That should work out great then!

All the best.

Hi Hank, what should I put under priority date question when I book an appointment online? should I put our interview date schedule?

Thanks again.
