Yesterday I received an email and a text message that my case has been transferred to my local office, Baltimore. I just got to the office and as always, decided to check the case status and saw that there has been another update this morning but the same information as yesterday. What is that?

Initial Review

On May 30, 2013, we transferred your I129F, PETITION FOR FIANCE(E), to your local USCIS Office for further processing. The new office has jurisdiction over your case and will send you a decision as soon as processing is complete or you will be notified if further information or action is needed. If you move, please use our Change of Address online tool to update your case with your new address.

I just talked to an officer and she seems to be giving conflicting information. According to her system, our cases were transferred to TSC and when I asked her why their site says local office, she said she didn't know why. The sad news she told me was we have to give them at least two months. That is #######.

They keep giving conflicting answers. My update says it has been transferred to my local office but the USCIS officer kept saying it had been sent to TSC. Did they tell when to expect to hear from the field office? I hope they stamp " priority" on all of ur applications before transferring them to the field offices.?

First off you need to understand the way the K-1 is processed. It is done at a service center which is usually California or Vermont. Texas and Nebraska fill in when the other two fall behind. Now you have to understand how the electronic system works as it is used for all kinds of petitions and applications. So for a K-1 the computer screen has a place for you to fill in the updated information which is VSC, CSC, NVC which does not apply for a case transferred as a K-1 is not usually transferred. So they have to over-ride the computer system to insert something--i.e. it is like all the USC that have to answer the A# question, what do you put in there. So they put in that it has been transferred to the local office when in fact it has been sent to TSC for processing because VSC and CSC are taking there own sweet time processing K-1s. This has happened in the past and will happen in the future.

You all are the "lucky" ones to have it happen to first. Is this a good thing--we'll see. TSC may or may not process them faster, that has yet to be determined. All you can do is wait and see.

Good luck and I hope the wait is not too much longer,

Dave

Thanks for the encouragement Dave. I got the May 24th and May 29th messages the same as most of you. My NOA1 was January 8, 2013 and I got the same generic messages saying that my file got transferred to my local office. At least I know they are doing something with it and it is not sitting on a clerk's desk collecting dust.

Patient in Mississippi,

James

Dave my first transfer alert said transferred to another office ... Then the second said local office ... So I am not sure your kind and helping summation is correct ... Thy send two different distinct updates and only the latter referred to. Local office
