Hi everyone,

I got my NOA 1 on May 6th and I realized that my husbands middle name wasn't showing on the letter so I asked USCIS to make sure that his middle name wasn't by mistake omitted by them. On Sep 18, 2013, a letter arrived from USCIS saying that there was an update on his name and that everything was fine. However when I called USCIS, I was told that I would have to wait for six months more because they are only processing applications from Oct,2012. Initially I thought that I have created this problem by requesting them to look into his name. But after reading all these threads on VJ, I realized that there are many of us waiting. Is there anyone out there who thinks maybe the reason why my application is being delayed because I called and requested to make sure his name was correct? My agent who helped me prepare my application pretty much told me that my question regarding the name caused the delay.. Any thoughts?

Ha you ar just too funny! What ever happened to opening a new center to fix this backlog? Ha it seems they are really doing their job to have no improvements what so ever.

What evidence did u provide?

For myself I called the Embassy first, got nowhere. I then called the USCIS from skype. I was sitting next to my motorbike with an adapter so I could have enough power to call. After about 20 minutes with the first person who answered the phone they said hold on for 30 seconds...my phone went dead. Needless to say I still have no power and limited water for bathing and limited drinking water. Last I heard will get power on Dec 24th...not gonna wait that long. Anyways, got an email the next day (13th) saying my petition had been moved and was being reviewed. If you get that far they will look at the island you or your wife is on I would guess. If you are from Luzon I don't think they would go for it. I am glad I was able to get enough time on the internet to make this call.

Gonna be a tough month coming up...most people I know are bailing and going to Negros or Luzon but I cant leave quite yet.

Congrats Jeff! My wife is from one of the affected islands and is safe (Thank God!). I filed due to water shortages, food shortages, and unstable power in her area. I'm hoping we hear something soon cause the situation there is ridiculous right now.

We're all in a rush to get our cases processed, but that is a really poor excuse for a lapse in judgment. If anything, she should have thought of the further delay to the expedite requests of those that have really been affected by the typhoon.

I think you guys are thinking too deep with what she was asking. I'm sure if it was a way for everyone to get their family here quicker they would. What's wrong with her asking? She didn't demand that they do, she simply asked if they would do it. Now I must admit, the common sense should've kicked in but dag everyone has been waiting for NOA2 for awhile. desperation is bound to happen. Just saying. Stay calm...it will all be over soon. smile.png
