OK, so I got the same response email on my ds 230 email package that i sent in, but my I 864 bounced back with the following. This is weird there is not password or encryption on the 864. Not sure why ds 230 got no issue but this. So i re attached and sent, also on the call to NVC now while waiting for live person....

You recently sent us an email with attached files. One or more of those
files was either encrypted or password protected. Please resubmit your
attachments without encryption or password protection so we may complete
our review.

ok a quick update, hopefully this dont happen to anyone anymore. So apparantly when i downloaded the i 864 form from the web, i only print off the signature page then signed and scanned. basically I then merge the signature page with original file...so according to the NVC that the original document may have some sort of code that prevent them from opening. (i dont that is the case since i used multiple computer to open the file and had no problem, but wat ever..) So today i ended reprint all pages out and scanned all of them back to convert in pdfs....HOPEFULLY no issues from here on. I did however like I mentioned, got the confirmation on my wife ds 230 email (did the same thing, only print and scanned the sig page, so not sure what is the PROBLEM with my first email on i 864.....)

also to add to above (not sure if this also part or the main cause), my original email on i 864 was a 17 mb.... I chopped it up into 3, so each is less than 9 mb.

1.i864, employment letter

2. 2012+2011 tax

3 2010 tax

that's weird - i did the same thing, split 8 pages the same way you did.

let me think... i had the original form, printed it to pdf again using cutepdf, but just 7 pages (not 8)

then i scanned the 8th page as 1 bit png file, opened it in IrFanView, then printed it to pdf with cutepdf

then i used the merging software from KVISoft.

the tax transcripts were already pdf files, in from my commercial efax service

the bank statements were from a web page, printed to pdf using cutepdf

then i ran each 'set' through cutepdf-editor website, adding header containing casefile #, her name, her DOB

in the end, i used KVISoft merge again, to make 1 big file - was under 3 megabytes... on 38 pages.

IMO, getting small and staying small is important.

17 meg seems ok - but when this stuff first started, it was 'recommended' to stay under 10 megs, ppl would get bounce messages about it.

now 20 meg and under seems ok..

just finished a phone call with an NVC supervisor. some comments.

1. scanned I-130 file is 23 pages. that 7 inches of stuff not make it into the casefile. Supervisor confirmed the trip logs, EOR and photos not make it in.

2. re: IV Set - even if everything else is there, not having a current PCC keeps the casefile at NVC until a current PCC is sent. Joy.

3. anything I send in gets added to the casefile , so that 7 inches o stuff that I WAS HOPING to get into the casefile, i can send in scans of it, and it'll get in.

sheesh - what a lovely weekend I've planned. Have Scanner, will scan ;)

Yay !

OK - that's weird - in a call with NVC tonight (My 2nd fav operator, Polly) -

I'm told the case complete occurred yesterday, 10 June 2013.

I asked about the 'case complete email' and Polly mentions it takes time to generate those.

I asked Polly about the final review date and she's clueless about what that is, so I've asking for a supervisor.

Talking with Octavio and he's really confused - but he seems trainable (maybe)

No, I did not ask for my fav Supervisor, Supervisor Julie, but it's ok ...

I'll throw something in the NVC Monthly thread when/if I get that CC email, though.

Ye Gods - I hate that programming stuff with NVC.

Just got a checklist letter on the IV set - and the only thing listed was

--Photographs of applicant--

Stupid wankers !!! photos not required for GZO casefiles, and I even included a page from the NVC website stating same with the IV set !

After I heard the "case complete" from a phone call, it took just two days to get the interview date. When I talked to the operators on the phone, it seemed like when they said "case complete", all the documents had finished being reviewed and the information was sent to GZ to set up the interview date. I never really heard any distinction between the case complete and final review complete kind of thing. So, I'm not exactly sure, but I would keep your eyes peeled the next couple days to check out for something -- could be pretty soon.

ya, i keep asking the drones about 'final review' started or completed, they be fussing at me stating that 'case complete' means the final review is finished.

oh well. tempus fugit - I'm cool about it, as I really thought we'd have a longish wait to get an updated PCC.

Ok guys, i hope I am just over panic on this now. So last Thursday when I called NVC, i found out that my 864 turn to be blur due to blue pen scan(i dun think that is the case), so I used a black resent the i864 in through email. Anyway I got the auto response from nvc electronic after 2 min I sent, but my concerned is I still haven't received the NVC RECIEVED YOUR CORRESPONDENCE email. so like the following.

From my last few emails after i sent, i usually get the following email in less than 4 workdays, but not this time and I kinda paranoid...

Dear Sir/Madam:

The National Visa Center (NVC) received your correspondence.

We received electronic documentation for this case. Please allow up to 20 business days from the day the email was sent for the scanned attachments to be uploaded to the electronic case file and reviewed.

The Department of State's National Visa Center (NVC) is committed to the protection of personal information of visa applicants and their petitioners. To ensure the confidentiality of visa files and to prevent the unauthorized release of personal information, the NVC requires that the following information be provided with each inquiry:

Name of the person submitting the inquiry

NVC case number or USCIS receipt number

Petitioner's name and date of birth

Principal Applicant's name and date of birth

NOTE: If the visa petition is employment-based (I-140), include the employer's company/organization name instead of the petitioner's name and date of birth.

Unfortunately, your inquiry did not contain ALL of the above information. Please resubmit your inquiry with the above information so we may update our records accordingly and provide you with a specific response.

IMPORTANT:

Do not let more than one year pass without contacting the NVC concerning this visa petition. If a period of one year passes from the last date of contact (by telephone, mail, or e-mail) with the NVC, all submitted fees and documents expire. If this occurs, the fees must be paid again and documents must be resubmitted in order to continue the immigration process.

Sincerely,

you can call in, ask for a supervisor,

then ask the supervisor to 'talk to the guy' that handles email .

asking specifically that the email be found and the AOS set be detached and pitched over to the review queue.

or [what i have done a few times]

resend with subject line modified to include 'supervisor review' .

ie - subject: AOS GZO2013xxxxxx UPDATED supervisor review

Yay Email ! grrrrr.

I submitted a ton of other bonafide marriage evidence into nvcelectronic, asking that it be added in to the IV set.

Originally case completed on 10 June, now when I call in, I learn the case was completed today, 20 June 2013. I got shifted to a supervisor, to learn that FINALLY the other stuff I sent it was 'found' (yay queues ! ) and detached and reviewed (yay queues ! ) and added to the SAFEFILE version of the casefile (yay queues!)

so, what foobaz123 learned last year about 'send more, it delays the case complete process' is true, for me. And that's OK. I've not gotten any indication that what was in the I-130 for bonafide marriage evidence was even sent on from the Dallas USCIS office into NVC, as another supervisor tells me the I-130 'storage' in SAFEFILE was only 23 pages.

urg.

Yay Email !!

some other email-ish errata.

got another checklist letter recently, but the only thing in it was [we added the documents you sent into the casefile]

then last night, got 2 more case complete emails .

count-wise, that makes sense, thats 4 case complete emails so far, i have sent in 4 email sets of evidence.

----

Other phone calls with supervisors this week, mostly the topic revolving around when to schedule the interview and what's going on with the IV unit closing in July for a week. Common answer on scheduling now is that Guangzhou IV should release more slots the first week in July and the normal scheduling bacchanalia will occur then. I can't get any answer on whether or not we have a chance of scheduling in July for an August interview, but I have some hope

----

New opinion - ever since CGI Stanley got involved with their website and appointments - the number of slots at NVC from Guangzhou IV has decreased. But that's just an opinion at the moment.

----

a few weeks ago, I set up an account on cgi stanley and set up the delivery document. It's my understanding she's supposed to drop this off on interview day - it's like a routing slip for the visa packet. here's an obfuscated version of it.

I am new to this site, and have questions about electronic processing with respect to IV petition for my wife in China. I have already paid for and filed the I-864 and paid the IV fees.

What is the difference between opting in for electronic processing with (1) the NVC (NVCelectronic) and (2) with NVCGuangzhou? (I think the second one is for the embassy.) But what documents or forms need to be filed with Guangzhou directly before the interview? Don't they receive everything from the NVC, and aren't the originals brought directly to the interview?

nvcguangzhou@state.gov email address is not used anymore, almost 18 months now.

I've a reference to it at the wiki page, stating it's predicated, not used any more.

nvcelectronic@state.gov is the email address to use for OPTING IN and also sending the AOS and IV sets in ...

just in case it's buried somewhere else - here's the wiki link to use:
