I have a suggestion: should we write EXP next to the cases who are expedited? I know a couple of May people who are. We know thatbif the cases are expedited, we usually get an interview date faster, hence the timings can be incorrect...

No its not a normal test. It is done after they examine the xray and if they see something. Very uncommon for Nigeria.

I did find a thread on the sputum test and there are a couple of people from Nigeria saying it’s been required. Much more common in the PI though. http://www.visajourney.com/forums/topic/338835-sputum-culture-test-for-possible-tuberculosis-any-insight/

Might be why that clinic was shut down. I have yet to hear anyone having to have one. It's definitely not required. I mean 8 weeks. The medical in Lagos is Physical come back in 4 days thats it.

But srloring just to let you know what will happen after test if they didn't make clear is:

after they collect sample of your sputum they will culture it for 8 weeks to see if the TB bacteria are really present in your lungs. If you are positive after the 8 weeks, then you will have to undergo at least 6 months of TB treatment. You will not be interviewed unless you are cleared with your medical exam.

I think they got confused. They probably thought it was required because their test came back suspect. I have yet to read anyone going through having a 6 to 8 week delay and rescheduling interview.

Also that clinic was shut down and I think that was one of the reasons they were false testing and delaying folks. It was kind of the medical AP This was during a time denials were a given. Now much better 4 days medical results.

It's unfortunate either way.

Thanks dwheels for your kind messages!

I have a suggestion: should we write EXP next to the cases who are expedited? I know a couple of May people who are. We know thatbif the cases are expedited, we usually get an interview date faster, hence the timings can be incorrect...

Yeah, I thought the same thing you did so I wrote: [Expedited] Next to my entry.

By the way, I updated the list but I didn't actually say it on this thread: I got my interview! It was expedited so it doesn't really help anyone calculate their timeline.. unless they are also expedited.

If I am reading this correctly it appears that NVC sets up interviews with US Embassy Manila on the first of the month? If this is true should we expect my wifes Manila interview appointment to be coming soon>

Possibly. Depends on how many slots and how many case completes are out there. But scheduling should start either tomorrow or friday or next week. Will see if they do a end of month or start of new month.

WOW this is the first sputum test I have heard out of Nigeria. Sorry for the delay. isn't it 2 months than results come in?

Yes. we have to wait 8 weeks. They said his right lung in the chest x-ray didn't look right. He also told me when he went for the sputum test, there were quite a few others there to do it as well. Does anyone know where and how much the treatment will be?

You have to notify your embassy and request an earlier date. No one can say f it will happen we don't know their schedule. i would email them immediately.
