Iv seen this happen a hand full of times on the website. I haven't seen anyone come back to say whats happened about it.

Generally it is thought there is a problem with the petition - either the petition itself or the person who is being filed for or with the US citizen and criminal charges.

I don't recall any of those situations resulting in a denial, but you could always spend a night searching different threads... good thing is that if there is an rfe it can be addressed right there.. double check your paperwork for any errors, if you find something have a letter written and ready to go along with an entire copy of your filing just in case.. you need a copy for your spouse anyway

Nothing to worry about. Ever since they started this new redirection of our cases to local USCIS some petitioners have been asked in for interview.

So just take ur evidence and go. Good news is that many get approved on the spot or shortly after.

i've no worry about him as he's currently an active duty military member stationed in Fort Hood, and all my police clearance certificate from UK and Malaysia well-prepared.

Does he have his letter from the military stating he had the O.K to marry you? Did he go through security procedures and file papers before marrying you? - These could be a reason for being called in. It could also damage his security clearance if he did not do this stuff before marrying you. If he has them, have him bring them with him to the interview.

hi Inky~

yes he did!! he did get written permission from the Department of The Army before our marriage (which this reason also stated in his military leave form) and he enrolled me into "DEER" system immediately after our marriage. he also get a black & white from the Army Department stated that "...the documentation provided to be legally sufficient...". and also he submitted this letter together with I-130.

my husband did well in paper works, all evidences and necessary documents prepared more than enough, and strictly follow proper procedures.

It is not all that unusual for the US citizen to be called in for a "standard interview" during the process of adjudicating the 130. One of the most common reasons for being called in for a standard interview is if the spouse was in removal proceedings when the wedding took place, but there are many other possible causes. I also received a notice for a standard interview in the middle of our 130 process. (NOA1 - 12/21/2012; notice for interview received 3/20/2013; Interview 4/23/2013). I did some reading both here on visa journey and on immigrate2us and the good news seemed to be that for most people the interview was brief and easy and an approval was given within a day. My lawyer was very concerned for our interview, but it went very smoothly and easily. The officer asked me a few factual questions to start (my name, birthdate, parents name, husband's name, birthdate, parents names) then asked how we met, asked if the families all knew about our marriage, asked how my children felt about everything and that was it. I got a text message about 4 hours later with the approval and got the actual letter 2 days later in the mail.
