I thought since it looks like we have a long wait at this office that I would start a thread. I have a info. pass appointment this week and can shed some light on a realistic timeline. :innocent:

i'll join in to the Dallas Thread.

Sometimes my language usage seems confusing - please feel free to 'read it twice', just in case !
Ya know, you can find the answer to your question with the advanced search tool, when using a PC? Ditch the handphone, come back later on a PC, and try again.

So your case is here in the Dallas office? If so have you looked into how much workload this office has?

Looks like it took ya 5 months for NOA2 with 2 RFEs. How much time did ya lose because of the RFEs do ya think?

I just realized that the tier 2 lady I talked to told me that the Dallas field office was working on September petitions. But your NOA1 is October. And with 2 RFEs. So something is not correct with her statement. What do ya think?

My best guess - almost 8 weeks.

I say b0llocks. That office is huge, they have several hundred staff working on I-130s rerouted from MSC.

So if you took a wild guess...when would you think we would be approved without any RFEs?

within 3 to 4 months of the I-130 hitting the local office in Dallas.

That's it, for now, the only prediction I'm gonna do.

Want more info on your casefile? Go to local office via infopass appointment.

Sure, the human you speak with doesn't adjudicate petitions at all, but hey ! they can pass questions back and forth across the building.

Thanks for your help. That is what I predicted with my wife this morning. Around July. I have an appointment already with this office this week. Again thanks.

I am joining this thread, my file hasn't been transferred. But this is my field office. I filed i-130 stand alone! I am wondering if they will inform me if my case gets transferred to a field office or not.

No one 'informs you' - you have to dig.

How to dig? Call into USCIS, as for an ISO, pose these questions in this order (no cheating or skipping)

1. What date was the casefile transferred to the local office?

2. What date did the casefile show up as logged in, at the local office?

3. Which local office is it?

After much spelunking with humans, I learned today that my I-130 was sent out from the Dallas office YESTERDAY to NVC.

My approval date was 25 March 2013.

Ok so today I went to my info. pass appointment. Woke up at 4;00am to make it. Got there and there were 3 people in the huge office. This is why I like early morning appointments place was empty. Anyway I sit down and start to ask her questions about my wifes name on the petition and so on. Well I get to the question of how long are we looking at for a decision. She answered that we are looking at 8-12 months from todays date just for the USCIS decision my wife and I have already been waiting 2.5 months and 3-4 more months for NVC and embassy. :wow:Then she told me that my wife would get a visa quicker if I filed the K-3 on top of the CR-1. :wow::bonk: Now this lady is blowing my mind with these comments. So she went and got the K-3 application and sat down and went through it with me line for line with a highlight marker. At this point I am rolling my eyes thinking what the hell is she talking about. I do not believe the USCIS will take this long. The whole appointment took 20 minutes. Then I called the USCIS hotline when I walked out of the office and the operator told me that tier 2 assistance was not available at the moment. So I hung up on her and called right back and had a tier 2 IO on the phone with me within 10 minutes. She lied and I knew she was lying. Anyway the IO Then told me that our I-30 petition was at the MSC (NBC). But yet I informed him that 3 weeks earlier another tier 2 IO told me that on march 19th my case was transferred to the local Dallas office. He said hold one minute and came back and confirmed that it was transferred to Dallas office. But he said it was received on April 24th. And told me to count 90 days from that date and if I have not heard anything from USCIS to call back. I guess what I am getting at is if you talk to 4 different IOs you will get 4 different stories on your case. This worries me. I talked to my senator today and he is going to get to the bottom of this. Or at least his aides said they were.
