I found this post over in another thread....

I hope they hired a few hundred because at this point, they are sooooo far behind schedule...and do we have to wait 6 weeks for these people to be trained?

Hi guys,

Fellow May filer here. Just thought I would update you as we wrote to our congressman's immigration aide about the near-complete inaction at NBC (other than processing filers from abroad) and how unfair it was that 1-129F fiancee approvals were flying out of the other service centers in the meantime.

The aide wrote back to say they had hired new adjudicators at NBC. That was all my husband said she said. So I guess they really are just holding all of the files in an ever increasing pile while they slowly get themselves ready to actually do some work on them. Eventually.

I think a similar thing happened at CSC earlier this year with fiancee visas, and as we have seen, the files did move quickly once the adjudicators started working on them.

Fingers crossed they finish their training soon!!!

well let's just hope those peope start processing their little butts off. It sure would be nice to see them on schedule .... Tomorrow is 4 months since our NOA1. It wouldn't be so bad if I knew that 5 months was the end.

Totally agree...if I knew 5 months would be the end I'd be cool. I set up my timeline here and it said the estimate was Feb or March 2014...oh goodness haha.

Are most people in this thread at the NBC? I've heard they can be faster than the other service centers but I'm not buying it.

You know you have mistake on your timeline? Says you got your NOA1 on Aug 23 when you got it on April 23 correct? So maybe if you correct it then you can shave a few months off the estimated time ;p.. Haha

When I first set up my timeline, The estimated time Was July. Then July/Aug. Then Aug/Sept.. Now Oct/Nov. A week or so ago it even said Nov/Dec. it has been a bit depressing watching it go up ... uP...UP UP UP UP.

NBC is a service center.. I think you mean the field offices.... The one thiing about this forum is that there are so many things flying left and right. Depending on who you ask and where you post it.

You gave me a mini heart attack when I read your processing estimate. rofl.gif

Think we should come up with a fact list?

Fact:

1. Up to May 1-130s was transferred to local field offices (proof on USCIS website showing national volumes)

2. Nov to Feb I-130s are still waiting to be processed (proof VJ)

3. No I-130s past April have been approved by NBC or local field offices (proof VJ)

Let's add to the list so when we call then we all can ask the unknown questions

This is the email I just received.... hot off the presses ( so to speak ) not much help though... 12 months is unacceptable but at least we know the stand alones are being shipping out. We should be able to check the local office volumes however I don't think those figures are too accurate.

Hello Heather,

A review of our systems shows that Case MSC13909XXXXX, Form I-130 filed by Jennifer XXXXX on behalf of XXXXXXXXXXXXX was received in our office on 04/12/2013 and is currently pending. At this time, the stand-alone Immediate Relative Form I-130 petitions are being sent to the NBC for transition to the local field office of jurisdiction for adjudication. Due to the current workload at the field offices, our current processing time for I-130 applications is approximately 12 months.

NBC will review and adjudicate I-130 Immediate Relative requests for expedite if the file is located at the NBC. If you request to have this case expedited it needs to meet USCIS expedite criteria. Documentation supporting the expedite request must also be submitted at the time of the request. Information regarding the expedite criteria can be found at the link below.

http://search.uscis.gov/search?affiliate=82601b2ec&query=expedite+criteria

I hope this information is helpful.

Thank you,

Congressional Immigration Services Officer

12 month wait for 15 min of work.. Very unacceptable!!

Stand alone I-130 is for example (husband / wife).. No other forms are filed with the I-130 until I-130 is approved

My local office volumes show they are 8-10 months behind :(

What is a stand-alone? "the stand-alone Immediate Relative Form I-130 petitions" i dont know this term

Back in the day, people used to file the K-3 along with the I-130. If you just filed the I-30 without the K-3, you are considered " stand-alone"

Nowadays, the K-3 gets joined with the I-30, they get prcessed together and the K-3 gets killed. So, its a bunch of paperwork for nothing. Although, with this huge delay, you'd think they would bring back the K-3 to get things moving faster. But then again, nothing makes sense at the USCIS.
