I filed an I-130 for my spouse from abroad and am living with him abroad. Curious to see if anyone in the same situation has had a response yet...

We're in the same situation as well, got our NOA1 on April 3rd.

Hello fellow April filers,

I have some good news to share just to encourage others out there. Our I-130 petition has been approved – my husband received an email today saying an approval notice has been mailed to our home address! We are over the moon, feel so very very lucky and thank God for such a speedy process because we know so many out there have been waiting for months on end for their approval - Direct Filing does work faster after all! smile.png

Interestingly, we did not receive an nao1 notice...maybe because my husband had made an appointment at the embassy to hand deliver it perhaps? We had dead silence for 36 days wondering what in the world was going on, and then the magic email appeared today!

I’m a bit confused by the fact that the email didn’t have a case number or anything on it. I guess that will be on the letter that the local Immigrant Visa Section (apparently it will explain the next steps) is sending us. Will update as we journey on...

Good luck to us all on this journey!

Yesterday I posted that we received an email letting us know that our I-130 petition had been approved...today we got an email with packet 3!!! We couldn't believe it because we thought it would be another few weeks before we heard anything from the local consular visa section here.Things seem to warming up now! DCF seriously rocks.

Good to hear that, i guess for all of us we might have to wait over a month or month and half before they touch our files which went to Phoenix and then to National Benefits Center

Hi!! im the USC my husband and i live in Portland, OR, he is from Mexico but been living here for 14 years. I'm from Costa Rica, have been in the United States for 8 years and I became a USC 2 years ago.

Our NOA1 date is April 2 2013, it have a MSC # and is in the NBC right now.

I hope time goes fast and we all get approvals soon.

Me too, my husband from UK and our I-130 NOA1 has a date of 1 April and I was told when I called that it could take up to 5 months or sooner before we get our NOA2. Hoping for sooner. :-)

Hi,

I am little confused... We both live abroad(my husband's address is military base)

We got NOA1 by email and it says our case has been routed to the USCIS National Benefits Center for processing.

Will our case be transfered to one of service centers? or is it already transfered to NBC and will our case stay there until our case get approved?(if so, does NBC have slow processing time...?)

Thank you in advance!

Since both of you live abroad, I'm assuming you put your foreign address on the I-130? If so, your case will stay at NBC for processing, and you can expect a NOA1 - NOA2 time frame of around 60 - 90 days.

USC who lived in Manabí, Ecuador with hubby from 2009 - 2013. Hubby became a naturalized American citizen in August 2016. Currently living together in northern Virginia.

Thank you for your reply!

I see... yes I put my foreign address. but we do not live together for no and my husband's address(FPO/AP) is military base address which is considered as US address even he stations in a foreign country...

I hope this doesn't generate any confusion and quick process!!

I just called the USCIS to see if my file was transferred to the field office. The operator insisted that I will get a notice if it gets transferred and as of today, it is still at the NBC. ranting33va.gif I really didn't expect anything but it was worth a try.

Has anyone else received a notice about their file being transferred?
