Just noticed this:

Starting April 30 at certain POE (and then rolling out to more and more over a few weeks), there will be no more I-94 paper forms to fill out for non-US residents on the plane. I assume the customs forms will remain.

1/4/13 - I129-F Sent | 1/8/13 - Received by USCIS
1/10/13 - NOA1 to VSC | 1/11/13 - Text/Email | 1/17/13 - Hard Copy Received
1/16/13 - Alien Registration Number changed
5/24/13 or 5/29/13 - Case Transferred to TSC
7/2/13 - NOA2 from TSC! (173 days from NOA1) | 7/6/13 - Hard Copy Received
7/18/13 - Shipped to NVC | 7/26/13 - Received at NVC and case number assigned
7/29/13 - In transit to consulate | 7/31/13 - Received by consulate
8/20/13 - Medical - Passed | 8/21/13 - Interview - Approved!
8/28/13 - Passport with visa ready to pickup from courier
10/17/13 - POE - JFK
10/28/13 - Applied for SSN and marriage license | 11/2/13 - SS card received

Thanks for the good news regarding the roll-out of Form I-94 automation by the Customs and "Burro" Patrol (CBP). It sounds promising that they are finally getting rid of the dated "white piece of paper stapled in the passport process." :thumbs:

The next thing the "Burro" Patrol should implement with this automated process is the instant inclusion of the arrival/departure data into their SAVE database. Why the concern? It has been known to take upwards of six weeks to get the slovenly government contractor, under contract to the "Burro" Patrol, to input this data into the CPB's SAVE database. Until this data is inputed, other government agencies, i.e., SSA, state DOL, have been known to withhold document issuance, pending SAVE database data inclusion. This can result in unnecessary hardships for law-abiding, legal immigrants. :yes:

The "Burro" Patrol's current recommended work-around is for the legal immigrant to present to the other government agencies their documents and the hard-copy Form I-94. This is often not accepted by those other Federal and State government agencies, who require electronic SAVE database verification. Sadly, the "Burro" Patrol continues to recommend this often non-viable work-around with this new process (printing out an "electronic I-94 number"). :no:

I guess three steps forward and two steps backwards is real progress for our vaunted Customs and "Burro" Patrol in this whole Byzantine immigration system. :o

Sometimes my language usage seems confusing - please feel free to 'read it twice', just in case !
Ya know, you can find the answer to your question with the advanced search tool, when using a PC? Ditch the handphone, come back later on a PC, and try again.

Yep, I don't think that there are many fans of the current SAVE system.

06-04-2007 = TSC stamps postal return-receipt for I-129f.

06-11-2007 = NOA1 date (unknown to me).

07-20-2007 = Phoned Immigration Officer; got WAC#; where's NOA1?

09-25-2007 = Touch (first-ever).

09-28-2007 = NOA1, 23 days after their 45-day promise to send it (grrrr).

10-20 & 11-14-2007 = Phoned ImmOffs; "still pending."

12-11-2007 = 180 days; file is "between workstations, may be early Jan."; touches 12/11 & 12/12.

12-18-2007 = Call; file is with Division 9 ofcr. (bckgrnd check); e-prompt to shake it; touch.

12-19-2007 = NOA2 by e-mail & web, dated 12-18-07 (187 days; 201 per VJ); in mail 12/24/07.

01-09-2008 = File from USCIS to NVC, 1-4-08; NVC creates file, 1/15/08; to consulate 1/16/08.

01-23-2008 = Consulate gets file; outdated Packet 4 mailed to fiancee 1/27/08; rec'd 3/3/08.

04-29-2008 = Fiancee's 4-min. consular interview, 8:30 a.m.; much evidence brought but not allowed to be presented (consul: "More proof! Second interview! Bring your fiance!").

05-05-2008 = Infuriating $12 call to non-English-speaking consulate appointment-setter.

05-06-2008 = Better $12 call to English-speaker; "joint" interview date 6/30/08 (my selection).

06-30-2008 = Stokes Interrogations w/Ecuadorian (not USC); "wait 2 weeks; we'll mail her."

07-2008 = Daily calls to DOS: "currently processing"; 8/05 = Phoned consulate, got Section Chief; wrote him.

08-07-08 = E-mail from consulate, promising to issue visa "as soon as we get her passport" (on 8/12, per DHL).

08-27-08 = Phoned consulate (they "couldn't find" our file); visa DHL'd 8/28; in hand 9/1; through POE on 10/9 with NO hassles(!).

Hi every one,

I arrived in USA 20 days ago and now I`m applying for adjustment of status and I see that they require an I-94 number on form i-485.

Now I`m reading here that this i-94 card no more exist.

Is that true? Because I only have on my passport stamp with expiration date. There is written only the date of my entry in USA , class of the visa and the expiration date, that`s all. There is no any i-94 card or whatever it is, JUST STAMP.

Hi everyone,

My fiancé just arrived yesterday. He also just has the visa in his passport with a stamp, expiration and A# So does this mean the I-94 is now automated? In other words can he work for the 90 days OR does this mean there is a new process that he has to apply for permission to work?

Appreciate any direction/response.

Get your I-94 from here : https://i94.cbp.dhs.gov/

Please keep in mind that some dates are only known after receipt of another document.
For example, the USPS Form 3811. The stamped receiving date was not know until the original Form 3811 was received on 07/13/2013 1:30 p/m CST.
