He apparently almost forgot getting the memo  That is truly a classic one.

That's the thing that cracks me up. These aren't run of the mill Joe the Plumber types. These are the folks trying to become the next POTUS. I am still trying to figure out what word he was trying to say(you know, since folks swear it isn't THAT word). And what's even funnier, is those on this board that say the Democrats had the KKK in the party. We know that, but the quetion is, where are the KKK now? Do you think they voted for Obama?

What I can't figure out is, the conservative party is supposed to be about God, country, and doing things the right way. Yet; they claim God is the forefront, and still insult anyone who doesn't fit their mold(the Bible says love thy enemy), this great country was built by who? Immigrants. But now we are trying to lock the very door our anscestors broke through(talk to the Native Americans about that one) and how can your cause be just when you alienate everyone but one particular demographic?

The southern democrats were nothing like todays democrats. They were a branch of the party with totally different ideals than the rest, who's members migrated to the republican party and have helped make it what it is today. The two parties have basically totally shifted positions in terms of right wing and left wing since the time of Lincoln. Yet Republicans still try to claim what he did to say they're the party that helps minorities. That was a 150 years ago! Lincoln was also big into giving things away to public to, like those 160 acres for settlers. Today's republican party would privatize that, letting their cronies sell it to the public for personal profit, while the government paid the expenses of the sale.

I won't swing extreme one way or the other. But I think it's sad being tolerant and trying to find some middle ground is considered a problem...

It's a battlefield out there! Luckily, most people don't notice, or don't care, unless somebody makes an issue of it. But, just to be safe, it is always wise to be aware of your surroundings, and the shortest path to the nearest exit.

Of course, 18 years in the military, 20 living in St. louis as a black male. I don't even sit with my back to an opening. My wife says my eyes are always shifting when we are in public. I know to never let my guard down.
