Heck no! If you ever think a person from the deep south is hard to understand, try on a newfie... Then try a drunk newfie. rofl.gif

Today has been a rough day. Feeling abandoned by friends and family and can't be with the husband (obviously). My sister, aka my maid of honor in my wedding which is in literally 37 days, is refusing to stick with my color scheme and demands to wear black because she "can't afford anything else because she has to pay for her spring break trip and her new ######*ng school in London". I should be expected to sacrifice for her needs again and again and again. My mother doesn't care, my "friends" don't respond to my texts or calls (but post pics of them together on fb having a grand old time). I feel like ####### and I'm lonely.

So there's my rant. Might be the most true one yet.

I'm sorry. I really don't understand this not pulling it together for someone's special day, unless it is something worthy of Bridezillas.

I have a messed-up family.

Welcome to the club *hugs*.

welcome to the boat. My father is jealous of his own son............it bothers him greatly that his son outdid him in life.

Or the boat.

I think it bothers my mother that I'm literally doing everything I can to not end up like her (though she is a wonderful Mother...) and I think my sister hates me and is insecure around my other bridesmaids. They're my "best friends" but I've not even heard from them for weeks. This again goes back to the ignoring of texts and calls but being on fb with each other etc.

Someone just let me have my day. I just want one day to be pretty and be with my husband and dance and eat and love my families and be happy. Then I'll leave you alone. One day is not too much to ask from normal people, but I'm dealing with abusive and immature cockmongers.

Of course that is what you want, it is what every woman wants.

I think it does bother our parents when we choose different life paths. I would hope that my daughter makes healthy and happy choices, but you can't put your expectations on someone else, it just doesn't work.

A middle-aged businessman sat down on a bench at the bus stop, next to a young punk-rock type with copious piercings and tattoos and a purple/green/yellow mohawk. The punker noticed the businessman giving him sidelong glances and said, confrontationally, "What are YOU looking at, old man?"

"Well," said the businessman, "about 20 years ago, I got really drunk and had sex with a parrot, and I was wondering if you were my son."

*la la la la* It is going to be nice and sunny today and we are going to the park.

I am not looking forward to packing again. :crying:

No, I lied, I can't wait to do it all!

Ok, I have nothing to rant about. I even tried to find something to rant about, so here is me ranting about not having anything to rant about.

here is me ranting about not having anything to rant about.
I once heard a radio announcer reading a commercial. He said, "Don't fail to miss it!" Your predicament sounds like this, si or no man.

New rant: Read the opening post, the (appropriate) incredulous early response from an experienced member (you'll see the double-digit bonuses), the whining from the newbies, and my response (post #44, if it survives).

My rant for the day:

People being condescending (even when claiming they aren't) and elitist for no good reason and taking shots at other people, thinking they won't get seen. Childish and pathetic - especially from someone whom I initially thought was a cool bloke.

Appearances are deceptive. Should have realized that.

I'm so sorry to hear that. Sounds like we were equally lucky in the sister department. I think that for the rest of my life, my strongest memory of her will be Christmas morning 1994, when she woke me up at 6:30 to tell me, in detail, all the reasons that she hated me. She had stolen the key to the deadbolt on my bedroom door that my parents had had to install, since she kept stealing my clothes, jewelry, and handbags. Good times. She complains to my mother that I don't keep in touch with her, this coming on the heels of her forgetting my daughter at Christmas and her first birthday*. We still haven't even gotten an email and she was 1 on Jan. 14. My niece and nephew are 17 and 12...I've never missed a holiday. Families are fun, aren't they?

*ETA: I knew better than to expect a gift of any kind; that was never on the table. When I say forget, I mean that she didn't send Happy Christmas wishes, no note, no card, nothing even on our Facebook page. She didn't even bother to walk across the room to speak on Skype when we called my parents Christmas morning, just called "hey" from her chair. Identical radio silence for Sophie's birthday.

Families are indeed fun. Amy's coming over for a party to celebrate an event of my Grandmother's at the end of the month (woohoo!) but at the moment it looks like this party is an absolute mess to organize because of the fact that members of my extended family are bloody idiots.

First off, an Uncle annoying the barkeep who's going to do drinks at the function so he won't come any more - free booze for everyone but at a pretty hefty cost to my Mother... this same Uncle then refusing to come unless some of his friends come. These friends are the Brother and SIL of my abusive father, so you can imagine how that's going to turn out when they see me, especially with Amy (she's likely to bite their heads off if they try/say anything, mind).

On the flipside, the rest of the family are somewhat normal and awesome. It's just these isolated individuals it seems for all of us who make it difficult - and that's putting it lightly!

 I spent so long researching and researching and preparing for the NVC and the embassy, that it took me a little by surprise when we ended up bypassing it. I've seriously had nearly all the NVC paperwork ready with flip tabs since early December. I'm what you call a "go getter" though.

I acknowledge that there are other people in the world who need their hand held, but when there are already a million posts asking the same thing, a quick 5 minutes could find an answer. Why should I take 5 minutes to help someone when they couldn't even take that time to help themselves?

That sucks, I hate when people don't remember my daughter's birthday. It means so much to a child just to even get a card from Aunt soandso. :o She sounds like she is better off not in your life, though.

See my join date

<<< that's how long I did research for.

I still had questions, but they were more specific.

Not "WHAT DO I DO?!"

Granted, I did make 1 thread, that I believe was that I needed the stuff spelled out to me.

That's because I have a reading comprehension problem though, and I made sure to clarify.

I had the overall grasp of everything, but at the same time, with so much text in one place, my mind more or less gets overwhelmed and shuts down.

I have no idea when my nephew's bdays are.

Not even the month.

I find out when my SIL posts birthday pics on facebook.

I blame my husband.

Hey while busting your chops yesterday.......The shore line made me think of City Island. I say may be Tiny would enjoy a visit there?

may be the dishes are too small for his gigantic hands........(That's the excuse I'd use).

you guys are up early lol

A construction worker brought his lunch to work every day. Each day at noon, he would peer inside his lunchbox expectantly, but his face would always fall and he would say, "Nertz! Peanut butter again."

This went on for several weeks, when finally a buddy asked him, "Look -- if you're so sick of peanut butter, why don't you ask your wife to make you something different for a change?"

"Oh, I'm not married," the worker said. "I make these at home every morning myself!"

I think I liked the "polish" or "newfie" version of this joke better, that also included jumping over the Brooklyn bridge..........

wah wah wah moving on.
