Alien number on NOA2 hardcopy

Dear VisaJourney,

I'm a US citizen (petitioner) in the CR-1 immigration process for my wife (beneficiary). We filed I-130 last August and got our NOA2 (six months later) last week.

On our NOA2 hardcopy, there is an alien number printed inside the petitioner box (which contains my name).

However, that alien number is not the same as my actual alien number (which was assigned to me long ago when I came to USA).

Furthermore, the beneficiary box (which contains my wife's name) does not have an alien number at all. :bonk:

Is this normal? Did USCIS accidentally print my wife's alien number in the petitioner box? Or did they not yet assign an alien number to my wife?

Due to this confusion, I'm unable to complete my I-864 form (which asks for my wife's alien number). :help:

Please help!

Did you receive notice like your alien registration number has changed before your NOA2?

I got the same thing on my NOA2, I just assumed it was a misprint and that it is actually my husband's A number. I don't even know what my A number was, I've been a citizen for 20+ years!!

Thanks for the replies. I'm glad I'm not the only one with this problem.

Just to be safe, I called USCIS and told them about the misprint on my NOA2. They created a service request for me and told me to call back on the 15th day if I don't get any response. :pop:

Here I go again... back to waiting for a response from USCIS. Ah, the nostalgia! :girlwerewolf2xn:

USCIS finished the e-Request and told me that they have no jurisdiction :bonk: to correct the Typographical Errors on my NOA2 (because they already approved the I-130 and it was already sent to NVC). So instead, they told me to contact NVC directly and have those Typographical Errors fixed at NVC. :reading:
