Hi Visa Journey People,

I was wondering if you can go have the medical before I get my interview letter? We have sent our DS 230 off at the end of December and the Affidavit of Support off at the end of January and now we are just waiting, or should I wait to get the interview letter?

Thanks for your help.

Hi. I don't know what you are applying for, but if you look on the uscis website, they tell you don't get any

medical done before they tell you to. In the interview letter, it will tell you to go get the medical done. Our letter was received with over a month to go before the interview. That gives you enough time to have the medical done. You also have to go to one of the approved medical providers they list (You probably already knew that)

Anyway hope this helps, Alex.

Yes you can do it before you get the interview letter.

You need to wait for the interview appointment letter as they require you to bring it to the medical exam.

I hope all goes well for you!

Not always correct. Please be aware this information is country specific, and in fact state specific as the different states have different processes.

Thanks Vanessa/tony,

I will make my appointment soon then so we don't delay anything.

I know I am stressing way too much but I just don't want to mess anything because of any delay that I might have caused. We are in Brisbane and I called the Dr surgery about 2 months ago to find out the amount it was going to cost and it it easy enough to get an appointment but I didn't ask how long it takes to get the results back and if I could do it before I ge the interview letter.

So thanks for your help.

M.
