Okay so I stupidly left getting my vaccinations until I had got the letter saying the Embassy in the UK had received our petition..

So not im rushing to get stuff done, the GP says I need to wait a month between each vaccination appointment.

So they would all be done by April, so I could book my Medical to be in April.

My questions are:

Can you send the Readiness form before the medical or is that included in what you're ready with?

Also, if not, when you send the Readiness form, how long after do you get an Interview date?

Thank you!

Oops another question I forgot..

What do you take to the medical to show you have received the vaccinations? Is there a form the local gp fills in??

Also, what are Packets 3 & 4?

There's a pinned thread at the top of this forum for K1s discussing where you are now...between NOA2 and interview.

Instruction letter aka Packet 3.  See post #6. Copy of letter post #18.

Packet 4 is old talk. It's your interview appointment letter. Copy of it in post #45.

Your immunizations. See post 1 of that thread to know what you need. Your doctor may do a computer print out or a nurse could hand write it. Doesn't matter as long as it looks official enough to come from your doctor office.

You don't have to wait out the interval to get all doses of a shot. See post #911 of that same thread for my explanation.

Also, you should know that you didn't have to have vaccinations in advance. The medical you have to go to can provide them (at a cost which is probably more than your doctor does them for).

Can I get the vaccinations after my medical and still have them count for the AOS?

Thanks for your help!

Here's the deal. You can get a K1 visa with zero shots. So, yes you can get your vaccinations anytime before AOS is filed.

Is it a good idea to get them after your medical? No. 1000% no.

If Your DS-3025 vaccination sheet from Knightsbridge has all the requirements on it, then you are done for AOS. It will be accepted to show you met USCIS requirements. If you are missing a shot and get it after your medical file is forwarded to the embassy, then you will have to get a new immunization form done in the US by a designated doctor called a civil surgeon. They only accept forms signed off at your medical or by a civil surgeon in the US. A note from your doctor won't be accepted by USCIS. Do not believe the Knightsbridge nurse who says you can send a note from your doctor.

So what is the big deal about getting a new form in the US?

  • The closest civil surgeon may be 2 hours away.
  • They can charge you anything they want. $50 is a good deal. $300+ has been paid by some people.
  • They tell people they must do an entire new medical exam.
  • They say you have to pay for a tuberculosis skin test.
  • They just refuse to do the Immunization sheet without a full exam
  • They will fill out the sheet, but won't sign it. Useless.

Save yourself the likely hassle and get complete at your UK visa exam. Is there a good reason why you want to wait and get the shots later? If you read my post I told you to find, you would know you don't need to have all the shots in the series. You get a waiver and never get dose #2 for immigration or AOS. You don't have to hold up sending in your application forms or readiness forms waiting on shots.
