Hi everyone,

Its been 201 days since our NOA1 and almost everyday i check on the website for our case status. My fiance called USCIS thursday and he asked for a service request but was told that a form I-797 will be sent to him instead. He called up again and was routed to another rep who told him the same thing.Again he asked for a service request. He asked what it was but the rep wouldn't tell, just told him it could be I-797,or C or E. I'm just wondering though if that USCIS site is updated since it still shows initial review, doesn't make sense to me.

Would they tell you right away if you're approved or not or it should be the tier people who has the capacity to tell you about the status.

I hope somebody could enlighten me about this. Thanks so much and and hoping everyone the best.God bless you all.

Jan

An ISO would be able to tell if you are approved and put in a service request, the customer service representative can only read off what is on the website (which sounds like what happened here).

3/2/18  E-filed N-400 under 5 year rule

3/26/18 Biometrics

7/2019-12/2019 (Yes, 16- 21 months) Estimated time to interview MSP office.

Thanks for your reply.I appreciate it.Just want ask what ISO is and how to call them.Thank you.

The petitioner (US citizen) will need to ask the live rep on the phone to speak to someone who can actually see their case, a tier 2 person. If the caller requests to speak to a second tier person 3 times, the customer service representative can not refuse.

The "Check your status" information is updated sporadically. If you subscribe to the enhanced thing, where they send you email or text updates, I understand that is a little more active.

https://egov.uscis.gov/cris/Dashboard.do

At 201 days, you are not yet at the national average of 219 days, but more that the VSC average of 183 days. You should expect an answer soon, it could already be in the mail. Do they have your current address?

Isn't I-797 the same as NOA2? Since its been 201 days for you I would think your NOA2 is coming and that is the reason for no service request.

Yep. I think the I-797C is the approval, the I-797E would be the dreaded RFE.

And why do u say that if u sign up for the text/email notification when a change is made on ur status that its more active? I thought its through the same system? So why would u not get an update the same? :)
