Hello,

I'm a K1 and my AOS interview is on Wednesday. I just finished putting together all the paperwork for the interview and I'm confident I have everything but I just want to double check. Here is what I have (I am the petitioner, husband is the USC):

1. the interview letter

2. all other USCIS correspondence and copies (NOAs, etc.)

3. marriage certificate + copy

4. my birth certificate + translation + copies

5. husband's passport bio page photocopy (he will bring his passport obviously)

6. husband's birth certificate + copy

7. my EAD + photocopy

8. my SSN + photocopy

9. husband's SSN + copy

10. photocopy of my passport bio page (and obviously I will bring my passport)

11. photocopy of visa + I-94

12. photocopy of back of I-94

13. G-325A filled out and signed

14. I-485 filled out and signed

15. affidavit of support filled out and signed

  • 2011 return + W2 + copies
  • 2010 tax return + W2 + copies
  • recent pay stubs

16. copy of joint tax return

17. year's worth of joint bank account statements

18. copy of joint lease

19. copy of I-693 (since the doctor gave me an extra copy)

20. photocopy of our health insurance cards

21. two health insurance account statements

The officer should have some photos of us in the file, but sadly I lost all our photos and don't have extras. So no photos for evidence.

Bring one photo, get one made. I have seen another post where it is a requirement for them to see one photo if they ask because it is listed on the interview letter. Go to a photobooth or something. I would make sure to bring just one in case they ask. Just my two cents.

Not positive on this but they like to have a photo from recently or a wedding photo other than the marriage certificate to keep on file.

I found a recent photo of us that I can print out on photo paper :) It doesn't list photos anywhere on the interview letter though. No wedding photos because there wasn't a wedding.

You dont have any photos?!?! Not even on Facebook or something you can retrieve and print? One picture is not enough.....the IO asked to look at my scrap book with over 100 pictures and looked at every page...I would strongly recommend finding pictures ASAP!

Our love began in 2010....our Journey in 2012 (January) and now we are at peace until 2014!

Timeline (kinda-- Im not putting exact dates- just months~)

--January 2012-- Sent our I-485 and I-130 packet off :)

--February 2012-- Touch-- Need more evidence.

--February 2012-- Sent more evidence.

--March 2012-- Biometrics and Doctors App (around the same time)

--June 2012-- (BIG PROBLEM) Immigration sent us a 'DENIAL' letter due to not having a sponsor (I thought we didnt need one)

--June 2012-- we hired a lawyer and got a sponsor, got the I-290B Motion to Appeal or Reopen had everything sent off by the end of July 2012.

--October 2012-- OUR APPEAL WAS APPROVED (breath easy, we didn't have to wait too long)

--October 2012-- Work permit sent-- got SSN

--November 26th, 2012-- AOS interview-- Got sent out told to get a translator and new interview date would be sent. :(

--January 8th, 2013-- Second interview...went well but no idea if we were approved or denied....VERY STRESSFUL!!

--January 15th, 2013-- APPPPPPRRRROOOOVVVEEEED!!!!!! (checked on USCIS web site)

--January 18th, 2013-- Card Production Ordered....welcome letter (hard copy) in the mail!!! :)

--January 24th, 2013--CARD IN HAND!!! DONE!!!!!
