I am in Ecuador visiting my fiancee, we still have not received the NOA2 yet but trying to get some things ready in advance. I am wondering how long the police record is valid for if we get one now. I am making a guess that we will not go for an interview until April or May.

Thanks,

Wade

Yes, each country has its own length of validity for their police report, however, the embassy will accept them as long as they are from within the past year, correct?

ALL police certificates are valid at ALL consulates for one year, regardless of what the police certificate may say.

Correct!

Wade, in Ecuador the police certificate lasts only 3 months. Best to get it towards the end.

That's what the certificate says. If people say that the consulate will accept it, cool. I wouldn't risk it though, Guayaquil a is different kind of hell hole.

ok, I just discovered that it is very easy to print it off the internet. I was shocked to see something like that being so easy to get when everything else takes a long time and waiting in long lines.
