The foreign fiance's income can NOT be counted on either affidavit (except when the foreign fiance has been

living with the fiance, married, and in the US for six months), however the foreign fiance's assets CAN be used if

they are readily convertible into cash.

I found this link with the above information and my question is this. What if the foreign fiance has no assets to be converted into cash, but already has a sizable savings account to convert to US $ ? And if that CAN be counted on the i-134 does it need to be on a separate affidavit like a co-sponsor or would it be included with the US fiance affidavit of support?

It depends on the embassy. Most embassies would only allow it if the bank account is US based, and ideally in joint names (though the later is not absolutely necessary).

Technically, you can include any supporting documentation including that of the foreign fiance's assets. Cash and savings account mean the same thing in this context. When using foreigner's assets for self support, they must be documented as being in the same name for at least several months. It's best if they are already in the USA.

Doing this, however, is a two-edged sword. Unless you have significant evidence the relationship is genuine, it tends to look like the foreigner is buying their way to the USA by using the US fiancee. They are going to consider the totality of circumstances, which we here do not know, so your chances of success are impossible to predict with any confidence.

I never even thought of them looking at it like he was buying his way in, omg, this really is a tough hill to climb! I was just thinking it would look better, a little cushion if you will, and even less likely to be a burden on our government. As far as meeting the necessary income I am good. I guess the old saying is true, never volunteer too much information, Sheesh!!!

Just remember, "totality of circumstances". If you have enough income, concentrate on relationship evidence and interview preparation.
