Dude. Sitting behind a keyboard and saying Still no update is not gonna help you. I told you many days back. Get an Infopass and demand to talk to a immigration officer and not a front desk person.

I dont want to sound rude but you are not taking any action on your part.

No update yet guys..
It is ridicules..almost three months now after I submitted my n14..

Yay, congratulations!!! It's time for a shredding party, to get rid of the tons of "evidence" you'll never need again!

On Monday, It'll be 90 days since I've been put in line for interview scheduling. Thanks to you guys, I know that Manhattan / Bronx take 3.5-4 months to schedule, but I may still call and open a service request (as USCIS suggests in their "in line" e-mail). Don't think that would do much to expedite things though :-/ *Deep breath* I'm feeling a bit impatient because I have an international trip coming up in December / January, and will be upset if I have to pay for expedited passport processing, if they happen to schedule me for naturalization shortly before then.

Fingers crossed for bobbybrown and iamwhatiam80; you've sure waited more than enough!

I am a U.S Citizen!!! Now, Thank you everyone for your help and guidance.

No it does not take 3.5 to 4 months to set an interview ( Yes even in Manhattan /Bronx). At max 2 months. I gave my interview in Manhattan and they scheduled me in 30 days.

Either they have misplaced your file or something else is wrong. Get an INFOPASS and demand to talk to am immigration officer. Its your right.

And I am waiting for my oath letter. Hopefully after 1 month of approval i should hear something. I am optimistic about that.

Yes, it does, if you *live* in Manhattan or the Bronx, as has been the case for many of us here. As you mentioned in a message we exchanged, although you were *interviewed* in NYC, you are not a NYC resident. For some reason, this makes a difference. Look at all the extremely fast approvals for Brooklyn and, to a lesser degree, Queens residents.

Who knows why, but for some reason it does make a difference which part of the city you reside in. It sucks.

We obviously don't know for sure, but earlier on in this thread, dramaqueen81 and I looked at NYC timelines posted on another website (trackitt) and it was very clear that almost all cases handled by the NYC field office were either extremely fast (3-3.5 months from start to finish) or extensively delayed (7 months +, with a long wait for an interview date). Looking at the persons who disclosed here from which borough they filed (+ a few people I messaged privately), it does appear linked to the borough of residence.

I'd *love* to ask a USCIS insider what method they use in NYC; are N400 assignments to officers totally random? It may be that they assign cases geographically to groups of immigrations officers. Since many immigrant communities are concentrated in some areas, perhaps they assign Washington Hts (Dominicans) to one group of officers, Corona to another group (Ecuadorians), Greenpoint & Ridgewood to another (Poles), parts of Staten Island to another (Sri Lankans...) This is TOTALLY a guess, but if they for some reason wanted to have officers *specialize* in certain areas (to better detect fraud?), and workload / staffing was unevenly distributed, perhaps the wild range of processing times in NYC would make sense. But who knows...

Hope next week brings some good news to both of us, so starved for attention from USCIS :-)

If what you are saying is true, then thats really bizzarre.
