Returned incompatible format information with NOA1

They returned my photos stacked together in a loose envelope and Facebook communication on a cd due to format incompatibility. I contacted the USCIS local office and they recommended to resend the information in a corrected format and my receipt number (already received noa1). I color copied photos on a plain paper with captions, printed off FB & SKYPE chats (50 pages each), used this opportunity to add additional financial documents, emails, phone records and mailed everything to VSC. I haven't received any acknowledgement yet (submitted 2 days ago), and I don't know if I ever will, or will it be even able to make it to the original packet? I have also included the USCIS letter of rejecting my incompatible format information, which may help towards them accepting my corrected information. Anybody with similar experiences?

You CD was the issue , they do no accept any electronic media. Photos are usually attached to papers with captions.

This will not be over quickly. You will not enjoy this.

I did not attach photos as you indicated. I have corrected all incompatabilities and just praying that they accept it as an addendum to my originally submitted application, otherwise RFE will delay everything.

If for some reason they do not match it with your file then they will either approve it with what you have, send you another RFE, or deny it.

Keep copies of what you sent so you can include it in the stuff you take to the interview

Welcome to the forum.

The tried and true method of relationship evidence (i.e., photos, chat session, etc...) states it best, is found in the forum's K-1 Step-by-step visa guide, and is easily accessible through the "Guides" button, at the top of the forum page:

"1. Copies of all airline boarding passes, train passes, itineraries, hotel receipts, passport stamps (make sure you can read the dates on the stamps), and other documentary evidence that you have met within the last two years. You may want to highlight or place post-it notes indicating the dates and locations on the copies (to make the adjudication easier) for the person reviewing your file.

2. Color Photo's of you and your fiance(e) together. Make sure you write your names, date, and location on the back of every photo. Provide two to five photo's. If you only have a single copy of the photo, then make a color copy and send that. If it is a digital photo, have it printed at a company such as kodakgallery.com. You can also make duplicates of photo's at your local photo store (Walgreeens, CVS, etc). Place photo's in a plastic bag or photo sheet and label the sheet. Note that you may not receive originals of photo's back.

3. The following items will not typically show proof of having met in the last two years however will show proof of an ongoing relationship: Copies of land line and cell phone bills, appropriate letters and emails, stamps on the letters (to document the date they were sent), and other written documentary proof. Provide a reasonable amount; two to four of each type. Pick a range of dates up to and including the present. You can also include a copy of engagement ring receipt (this is something that is a big optional - do not worry if you do not have a ring yet!)"

Follow the examples, to avoid any further delays and possible RFEs. Be sure to make a copy of everything that you submit to USCIS.

Good luck on your visa journey.

I indeed put the passport photos in the plastic bag, but if they can't approve loose photos in an envelope, I don't understand why t would become acceptable for them if they are stacked inside a plastic bag? Anyways thanks for the input :)

Regular loose photos should be accepted. You just need to put the date taken, where taken and who is in the photos on the backs of them. People have sent photos that way in an envelope without issues. Not sure why they returned the photos with the CD.

How efficient you are with your evidence....with my experience on here they don't read cd's unless things have changed.

Placing the pics on paper might do the trick.

Please when you have the time create your timeline on VJ to continue in helping others in Morocco

Good Luck with your application

My photos are appropriately captioned but returned because they were loose. They are scanning everything in their system and whatever it is, it should be scannable. So if you print them on a plain paper or tape them, as long as it can easily sits on the bed of scanner with all details on one side of face, it should work. This is what I believe.

ahhhh your facebook info was on the CD...I see now.

It was my experience with evidence...that I used Walmarts collage and placed a bunch of various photos on one nice 8 x 11 presentation four times.

It saved space and was cost efficient.

Apologies for misreading your original post.

It sounds like you did well to resubmit the loose stack.
