Varicella is not available in the UK but if you have had chicken pox they will mark that as covered. How about polio along with the tetanus and diphtheria? It's the P in TDaP.

I am 30 years old and these are the vaccines that my civil surgeon required me to have:

MMR vaccine, seasonal

Influenza (flu shot),

Tetanus within 10 years,

Varicella/history of chicken pox

no mention of diptheria nor polio, but if you're getting TDAP you're more than fine then.

Thanks guys,

I had chicken pox as a kid, unusually got it twice so I should have HUGE antibodies!!!!

I'll call the nurse and tell her,she says there will be a charge which is a little annoying as some folk say it was free on the NHS,postcode lottery I guess!!!!!

You all rock, thanks for replying

Positive of this answer.--

Td or Tdap -Tetanus/Diptheria/Pertussis (whooping cough, not polio) or get DT, DTP or DtaP and it will be accepted. Must have had vaccination within the last 10 years.

MMR Mumps/Measles/Rubella (if born in 1957 or later) Get a second shot 4 wks later if you have time

Varicella – Not routinely given in the UK ; a history of having chickenpox excuses you from the shot. They take your word for it at the visa medical exam. and for a CR1, "not routinely available" marked on your sheet excuses you too. (Not true for K1s)

Influenza - During flu season only, October 1 through March 31. This was a new recommendation dated November 2010 for all ages over 6 months. Older lists will say flu shots for over age 50. It changed. Uk docs don't like to give it except to the elderly and children. Go to Boots, Tesco, Sainsburys, etc for a flu jab.
