I found the post. It was Victoria. Her husband had been military. Read what she had accepted http://www.visajourney.com/forums/topic/400270-possible-to-get-an-earlier-embassy-interview/page__view__findpost__p__5830242

We Americans are a patriotic lot and honor our servicemen. Your interviewer will be American. Play the military card if needed, reminding him that your fiancé is on active duty in a dangerous place and sent what he was able to get being in that position. Don't be so British that you are afraid to speak up for yourself. I think you have an advantage over the rest of the fiance's with civilian partners. A UK girl called Katie Waitie (with a military fiancé) and I exchanged a few emails. She said everybody was so nice to her from the embassy to POE and told her "tell your fiancé thanks for his service". She was bustin' with pride by the time she got here. I hope you have the same experience.

Now play this YouTube to get yourself in the patriotic mood and know you have a very special fiance

If that doesn't show as playable (like on my iPad) then go to the YouTube .com website and put Q65KZIqay4E in the search box.

How strange....my name is Victoria too! Except I much prefer Vicky! Hopefully he managed to stay up/wake up and take a trip to the post office to send it. We will be skyping tomorrow so i'll find out. If not i'll wait for the email from the embassy and keep reminding them that he is on active duty. I just don't want to be denied/get a RFE cause of 1 thing :(

For Victoria to not know, have a scanned copy and get approved is amazing. Im hoping I have a slight advantage with him being in the military and I will definitely speak up and let them know his position. One more question though Nich-Nick (since you're ever so helpful), if you don't mind...

Medical on the 21st ----- I have all forms ready including the DS-2001 and wish to send them the same day as my medical BUT as I mentioned, I fly to New Zealand on the 25th Dec and return on the 13th January. What if they assign me an interview for the time I am away?? I don't really want to send the documents after I'm back in case my medical results are just lying around (or get forgotten), but at the same time I would like an interview assigned to me asap. I love the video btw, my fiance is very special indeed! I love him with all my heart and very proud of him!

Because of the timing, your medical may not be delivered to the embassy until after Boxing Day, then little work will be done opening mail and otherwise until January. They have to get lab results back so can't send your report on the 21st. it would be a miracle to get an interview before Jan 13. If I was you, I would mail everything as you plan right before the medical. For the cover letter requested with the DS-2001, I would do something like this:

Immigrant Visa Unit

5 Upper Grosvenor Street

London W1A 2JB

RE: K1 Fiancé Visa

Victoria Jane Smith (beneficiary)

John Joe Jones (petitioner)

Case number : LND 12345678

Medical exam date: December 21, 2012

Planned wedding date: February 14, 2014

Email: vickyfiance@vj.com

PLEASE NOTE: I will not be available to interview until January 14, 2013 as I will be out of the country. I would be most grateful for an interview between January 15-25 so I can be in the United States for my fiance's homecoming. He is a [rank] serving in the United States Army, currently deployed to Afghanistan.

Thank you for any consideration you can give me.

Sincerely,

[signature]

Victoria Jane Smith

You might as well ask for what you want. They may give it to you. We wrote a similar request to London because my fiancé was going to be visiting me so we needed to delay his interview. They accommodated his dates. Good luck. Go have a great holiday and stop fretting. I'm sure you are gong to be fine. You got up to speed really fast and seem to have a good knowledge of the process now.
