What could be the reason behind the delay in our F2A approval (NOA 2)? :help:

Back in 2010, approval processing times were 5-6 months. Now, it takes more than a year! :dead:

It seems we're being swept under the rug. <_<

Yes, but it's so frustrating. We don't know what's going on at the Service Centers. Are they even doing anything at all? CSC is stuck at Sept 3, 2011. :(

We are just not a priority to USCIS since we anyway have to wait for a visa number to become available. Sometimes I wonder why F2A is called a preference category when it seems they don't prefer us at all :innocent:

If it's any consolation, just three years ago it was taking USCIS over three years to approve F2A cases. Processing F2A cases in five months seems to have been a short-lived improvement due to the fact that cut-off dates were moving rapidly at the time.

My F2A/IR-1 journey:

USCIS:
4 August 2011: I-130 sent (while husband permanent resident)
8 August 2011: Priority date
16 April 2013: NOA2

NVC:

7 May 2013: Case number received, DS-3032 sent

15 May 2013: AOS bill received and paid

16 May 2013: AOS package sent

17 May 2013: DS-3032 accepted

20 May 2013: IV bill received and paid

21 May 2013: IV package sent

11 June 2013: response to IV checklist sent

13 June 2013: Case upgraded to CR1

2 July 2013: Case completed

28 August 2013: Interview - approved!

21 September 2013: POE

18 November 2013: Green card received

My husband's citizenship journey:

8 February 2013: N-400 sent
4 March 2013: Biometrics
24 April 2013: Interview
12 June 2013: Oath ceremony

Yes, I understand we're not in their priority list because our spouses are not US citizens. :hehe:

I just called them after I submit the 2nd service request and they said that I have to wait for a visa number to become available wacko.gif

Zeroka had received the same reply a couple of weeks ago. This worries me. I wonder if (a) the customer service reps just don't know what they are talking about or (b) USCIS has a new policy and they will only approve an F2A case when its priority date becomes current? Option (b) would be a disaster, as it would mean that we'd need to wait additional time after becoming current to get through NVC and interview scheduling.

Honestly, I can understand that the petitions from citizens will be processed first. Fine, this is how any country should treat its citizens. However, LPRs pay the same processing fee so I would think that they should be entitled to a similar level of service. Is it so difficult for USCIS to recruit enough resources (with the money we send them) to approve citizens' petitions in five months and ours in six?!?

I don't mind if the time difference between USC and LPR approval is one month.

But more than a year of waiting for NOA 2 is INSANE! :crying:

I just want to know what the implications are if there is a delay in NOA 2. I was also wondering what the timeline is for the whole petition process.

It takes at least 2 years to complete the whole F2A process (from i-130 to visa issuance).

I hope and pray they start approving now that the US Presidential election is over.
