Philippine NBI CLEARANCE

NBI CLEARANCE. Applicants aged 16 years and older must have a valid Record Clearance for Travel Abroad Purposes from the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI). Clearances should be in the applicant’s current name, birth certificate name, maiden name and any aliases or nicknames used, including different spellings you have used of those names. An official letter of explanation from the NBI is required for any notation of “No criminal record” or "No pending case”. For immigration purposes, an NBI clearance is valid for one (1) year from the date it was issued.

My question is she already has a current NBI Clearance under her maiden name will it be alright for her to get a new one under her married name (now annulled). When she got her NBI clearance in August she only got it in her maiden name. I asked her to make sure she got it both names but she is stubborn and does not understand why she would need it in her married name if she is annulled. I sent her the above requirement and she still does not understand.

So my question is since she has one in her maiden name will it be alright to get the second one in her former married name which is the name we used when we filed the K1 petition or do we get a new one with both names on the new one.

Any help and suggestions would be helpful.

Get one NBI Clearance will AKA's for any and all previously used names. That includes prior names used for marriage, shortened names, etc.

How long does it take to get NBI clearence. We are currently satisfying a RFE. The doc. we need is on it's way to me now. Then I will send it to US immigration. We expect our NOA2 shortly after that. This is the first I have heard of this NBI clearence. Does it come in a packet later???

if the beneficiary has no HIT then its only one day to get that... but if there's a HIT on the name then it takes 2 wks. to get that clearance, yes NBI is a requirement during the interview of the beneficiary in the US Embassy...

I got an NBI clearance last June 2012 for passport renewal and change name/status.

It clearly stated FULL MAIDEN name (first name, mom's surname, dad's surname) plus MARRIED name (hubby's surname).

Example: Maiden name is Kris Cojuangco Aquino and hubby's surname is Yap. NBI clearance says YAP de AQUINO, KRIS y COJUANGCO

Should I still get the one with AKA for the NVC/Embassy stage?
