Very confused...any ideas?

I have had an unexpected set back, and have no idea why. :wacko: I was hoping someone at VJ may have some idea why USCIS would call back a case once it has been approved and sent to NVC?:unsure: I called USCIS asked to speak to a supervisor, but tier 1 informed me anyway that my case had not been received back yet and that USCIS never ever requests a case be returned, but it would have been State dept requesting the return and I would not be able to request any information on my case for 120 days from 10-18-11. I called NVC back again requesting a supervisor and was told that USCIS does request cases back and was offered an email to prove it in 3-5 days to show USCIS. I called USCIS back and requested a supervisor again and did speak to a supervisor who said they have no info on why my case would have been returned, but they do request cases be returned sometimes. He submitted a request to CSC to inquire why my case was requested to be returned. He said this will take up to 2 weeks, and he said how long I have to wait to request info on my case (once returned) will depend on what the reason was that it was returned, but he had no ideas what those reasons could be. :blink: Does anybody here have any experience with this type of thing or have any ideas why USCIS requests that a case be returned once it is approved? :help: Hubby and I were anticipating a closed case by now and an interview date soon and we are :crying:.

My basic timeline is

NOA1 11-25-11

RFE 6-4-12

RFE returned 8-23-12 (CSC received 8/25 or 8/26)

NOA2 8-27-12

NVC Received 9-5-12

NVC received response to RFE for DS230 10-15-12

AOS accepted and ok

USCIS requested NVC send case back to them 10-18-12

God is good all the time!!! This has been a long hard journey, but we have placed our faith in God and take comfort in knowing He is still on the throne. We have received a great deal of assistance from VJ in helping us prepare even though we found VJ after our I-130 was submitted. We appreciate everyone here and your support....Thank you.

I remember a case years ago where the USCIS agent found that they didn't include their checklist with the file so they had the case returned to add the checklist. ( It seems like it wouldn't have been faster to send the checklist to the case but who knows.) Maybe someone cleaned up their desk and found something from your file. At this point I wouldn't sweat it.

This will not be over quickly. You will not enjoy this.

Thank you for your response. I pray it is something simple, but on the other hand, if they pulled my case back from NVC when I was so close to getting an interview just to add something they forgot when they could have forwarded, I will be more than a little ticked off. :bonk: However, it is better to be a simple stupid fix than a complicated mess, although I can't imagine what that could possibly be. :wacko:

the namechecks finally came back and USCIS wants to get it into the casefile

Sometimes my language usage seems confusing - please feel free to 'read it twice', just in case !
Ya know, you can find the answer to your question with the advanced search tool, when using a PC? Ditch the handphone, come back later on a PC, and try again.

I agree with Darnell. Someone may have goofed up and wants to correct the file at USCIS.

It may be something concerning the RFE.

Sept. 21 Interview, 2 hour interview, we were separated and asked about 50 questions each for an hour each. IO was firm but professional, some smiles.
Several service requests made, contacted Senator and Ombudsman. Background checks still pending.
July 21, 2017 HOME VISIT.  Went well. Topic thread in AOS forum.
Waiting to skip ROC and get 10 yr GC due to over 2 year while pending AOS
AOS APPROVED Oct. 4, 2017 * Green card in hand Oct 13, 2017 !!!!!

First K1 denied after 16 month of AP. Refiled. We are a couple since 2009. Not a sprint but a matter of endurance.

Thank you Darnell. They received my response to the RFE on the 26th and approved my petition on the 27th, so maybe it is just something they overlooked.

I read a topic like this few weeks back. And after few weeks the person got case complete and the file never went back to USCIS. very strange stuffs. Not sure what is happening here though. best to wait for the service request and get a proper answer.

I was told by a NVC supervisor my case was leaving the building on the 22nd. USCIS still claims they didn't get it yet as of the 26th.

I was told by a NVC supervisor my case was leaving the building on the 22nd. USCIS still claims they didn't get it yet as of the 26th.

very strange case....i hope u will hear the good news soon...must be very frustrating for you guys...my thoughts are with u both....please keep us updated on the progress....
