Lost old passport with tourist visa, day before interview...

Desperately seeking some advice here... We just completed the medical exam today and on our way back to the hotel noticed the we could not find my Fiances expired passport. This passport had some stamps from US visits and also had the tourist visa stamp that is listed as a requirement to bring to the interview. What should we do?? I dont know if it fell out of her document folder or what, but we definitely had it at some point and now it is gone.

Is this going to be a big problem for us?? What possible recourse can we have, since it is the only copy I assume that we could have?

03/06/14 - USCIS Case online changed to reflect Green Card is in production

03/07/16 - I-751 received

04/06/16 - Biometrics complete

??/??/?? - Received work authorisation, lost form :(

09/01/16 - Got I-551 stamp in passport to travel to europe, only given 6 months

Anyone? We are at a complete loss here and have less than 24 hours to figure out what to do... A repeat trip to this consulate is just not going to be an option :(

I don't have the answer to your question but for future reference, always copy all pages of your passport (be it blank or especially if they have immigration stamp(s) or any important documents you may have.

Sorry about losing your passport.

We are in the same situation. He is just going to get a new passport and hopefully an explanation will work, but im terrified its going to ruin everything. We have no other proof besides pictures.

The thing is, she has a current passport and some evidence and we even made and submitted photocopies of the old passport with and of the tourist visa in the passport we have lost. I am just really worried because it seems the number one reason for a rejection on K1 is missing documents. But on the other hand, if this passport is lost, it is lost and it is not like you can get a copy of a previous passport with previous stamps.

There is literally no time for anything. Im not sure if we will even be able to get paperwork from the police before tomorrow morning, as far as filing a missing/stolen expired passport.

I dont see where it should be a problem especially if you have other ways other ways of proving your visits.

I recently had my interview, however, I forgot to take my expired passport with visa in it for me and also for my son. When the CO asked for it I told him I forgot it and he did not say anything else. We were approved.

Just tell them you lost it when you get to the interview.

August 22, 2012: case complete
October 18, 2012: Interview (APPROVED)
October 26, 2012: Picked up visa from DHL (delay caused by Sandy)
December 15, 2012: POE Atlanta....................became USC July 2016!!!!

September 10, 2013: Sent I-130 (UPS next day service)

September 12, 2013: Received text to confirm delivery

September 16, 2013: Received NOA 1

March 22, 2014: Received NOA 2

April 8, 2014: File Received by NVC

May 26, 2015: Interview (approved)..........now LPR (delays caused by 2 RFE)

Just tell them you lost it when you get to the interview.

Velrich, that is certainly comforting to know... Today has been hell, we ended up getting a report filed for the lost passport though in any case, so we have documentation to bring to the interview should it be needed. Hopefully everything will be fine in the morning...
