Hello everyone,

My husband was tested positive for marijuana a year ago at our interview, but has since completed the year of mandatory drug testing. He passed them all and we were given the visa. My question is, will he be tested again at the POE? I know it sounds weird, but a friend suggested he might. I'm not worried about him passing, I'm worried about having a long enough layover. Our options are 2 hours or 5. Since we are traveling with our two small children, I would prefer the shorter layover, but don't want to get rescheduled and have to try to find room for four on another flight. Has anyone gone through this???

While not outside the realm of possibility, it is highly unlikely.

Regardless, depending on where the POE is and what time of day the arrival is, 2 hours may not be sufficient time to make a connection after going through arrival procedures, claiming and rechecking luggage, etc.

July 30, 2011: Received NOA2 hardcopy in mail
August 8, 2011: NVC received file
September 1, 2011: NVC case number assigned
September 2, 2011: AOS invoice received, OPTIN email for EP sent
September 7, 2011: Paid AOS bill (payment portal showed PAID on September 9, 2011)
September 8, 2011: OPTIN email accepted, GZO number assigned
September 10, 2011: Emailed AOS package
September 12, 2011: IV bill invoiced
September 13, 2011: Paid IV bill (payment portal showed PAID on September 14, 2011)
September 14, 2011: Emailed IV package
October 3, 2011: Emailed checklist response (checklist generated due to typo on Form DS-230)
October 6, 2011: Case complete at NVC
November 10, 2011: Interview - APPROVED!!!
December 7, 2011: POE - Sea-Tac Airport

December 21, 2023:  Production of new Green Card ordered - will be seeing USCIS again every 10 years for renewal

I agree. We usually do a two hour layover when we're visiting in-laws. But this time will be different because of the immigration process. We are choosing the longer option. :D

I just want to know if I should be expecting a blood-test at the interview. I'm drug-free, but I don't want any surprises.
