I hope so:) I did post my experience in the July thread. Was told by the officer that I was approved and she asked me if I wanted to take the Oath in a weeks time. I had to request another date as I had a very important exam so, now I'll have to wait for the mail to find out when my next oath appointment is.

I filed in Newark, NJ in October of last year and got my interview AND oath taking (Newark does same-day oath takings!) in March of 2014: 5 months (almost exactly) from application to citizenship. New York City has been so backed up even from 2013 and Newark is still showing 5 months on schedule.

NYC is showing processing of apps from March 11, 2014 - so basically 8-9 months behind schedule.

The data is not necessarily true, when we did our N-400 in March 2013 it showed "priority dates for December 2012" and we were done by September 2013.

hi everyone i am searching some help regarding my n400 application . i am a may filer and given my interview on october 20 2014 , since then my status is stucked in testing and interview, i am not even in oath que. by the way i requested for name change and the officer told me that i will get my oath letter in 2 weeks but its almost a month. can you suggest me if it is normal not to have the status updated for a month. Please friend i am waiting for your valuable inputs.

It could be because you requested name change; however, I believe that you should be getting a response soon.

1. Where is Oath Ceremoney held in Brooklyn? How many family member could be with you at oath ceremoney?

2. How long did you receive the oath letter after status of case being updated to 'oath ceremony secheduled'?

We received the oath appointment letter about a week after our status changed online. The letter has the address and everything you need to bring.

We just finished my husband's oath ceremony this morning! Since we live in Brooklyn, the ceremony was at the Federal Courthouse at 225 Cadman Plaza (right off the Borough Hall subway stop). It is an open event, so you can have as many people come as you like, BUT keep the following in mind:

1. There are a LOT of people getting naturalized in New York City, so they make friends and family sit in a cafeteria on the 3rd floor and watch a closed circuit television showing the courtroom for at least 3 hours while they make the applicants verify their certificate is correct, explain the voting registration form (they can register to vote right at the ceremony) and go through people who have requested name changes. This takes a long time, and during this time you just sit in the room and wait. They make you go through security when you enter the building and you have to check in your cell phone, so you should bring a book. Sadly, you cannot take pictures the entire time, so make sure you get photos before and after the ceremony as you'll have no other chance to do it.

2. There is no guarantee you can go into the courtroom and watch the ceremony in person. This all depends on the amount of people being sworn in that day. We waited upstairs for hours until a court employee called us down, but if it was a busier day we would have had to watch it on a small television screen that you could barely hear. Keep this in mind if you're bringing small children, as one of our friends had a toddler and ended up having to leave before the ceremony as he couldn't take the wait. I wouldn't recommend telling friends or family to get there until at least 10:00, as nothing happened until 11:00, and tell them to go to the 3rd floor cafeteria. The applicant has to be there by 8:30am.
