I have read the requirements for getting married in Turkey on various websites. Do I need to get an eligibility for marriage in the United States?

Do they still do blood tests?

Thanks to anyone who can answer

Some states still do blood tests.

Generally you go to the court house to get a license in your state, some have waiting times after you get the license and some also do blood tests.

I know how to get married in my state. There are no blood tests. I am asking about the requirements for marriage in Turkey.

My apologies, you asked about marriage eligibility in the US.

Good luck.

I think you can try to check the embassy website, for the marriage requirement for USC in Turkey.

Hope this can help.

http://turkey.usembassy.gov/marriage_divorce.html

Thanks. I have seen this web site. I have seen that some people did not have to take all the blood tests and I would like to hear from anyone who got married in Turkey and if they took the blood tests, chest xrays, and if they got the certificate that indicates they were free to marry prior to leaving the United States.

I want to seriously challenge you to think about what you are doing here... This is not a personal attack, but a voice of reason. I want to point out some facts based on your own admission.

You stated in another thread you started just today (see here) that your relationship with your fiancé just ended based on denial of K1. The K1 was denied based on CO didn't think it was bonafide. I am inclined to believe he was right with his decision.

Your relation JUST ended..... You posted on your profile (today again I might add) that your journey ended today....TODAY... Your fiancé's K1 interview was just this past June 5th.

YET, you already have someone else lined up

Now, here you are in this thread asking how to get married already????wow.gif

Your relation will be extremely scrutinized. You haven't even gotten out of your other relationship long enough to drink a cup of coffee.

You are just proving to anyone reading your case file that the previous relationship indeed was not bonafide. So, what does that say about your credibility?

You can go get married if you want, your prerogative. But rest assured that someone looking at your pattern will surely question your motives.

Maybe even you yourself should question what you are doing? Turkey isn't the easiest consulate and you are not giving yourself a fighting chance at approval.

Good luck and best wishes on your future endeavors in relationships.

I have to agree with this poster. You will only solidify the suspicion of the CO with only one month between

different beneficiaries. If you do not wait at least 1-2 years before filing with someone new

in this case you will most likely experience the same return to USCIS, even if you would file a CR1 this time.

Waiting just a little while is not going to float. Even marrying soon and waiting with filing will be a red flag.

You have not demonstrated bona fide endurance with the first guy when your case was returned and they will test you again with the next petition no matter what requirement you have full filled.

Hello msjwede,

I am not sure if this question of yours concerning the marriage in turkey is for your fiance who was denied in k1 visa. Marrying your fiance is your another option to prove to the CO that you have bonafide relationship with your fiance. Although, it will need to go another process but it will be one proof of your relationship.

But then if this is for your new found one then there will be a high probability that your case will be put as a red flag in USCIS especially your latest application was just so recently. And after just one month you found new one. Say you have no plan to apply for any visa application for now, but then in time even if you apply for another route (CR1) and a different beneficiary your previous application will still be a bomb to your new application.

GOD speed!!

Thanks to anyone who can answer

This question is for the ladies that have been married in Turkey. I am specifically looking for American women that have married Turkish men. It has nothing to do with how long I have spent with someone. That is why I have posted in the regional discussion for Europe and Eurasia. In the future I may marry in Turkey and I would like to know if you had to do the blood test. I read on another forum that one lady had to take a blood test for sickle cell anemia. I have also read they no longer require the chest x rays. I have read some people were required to go to the Embassy to get the paperwork showing that they are free to marry ( I forgot what this is called)

Thanks to the ladies that are married to Turkish men.

Hi , yes, before you can proceed with any steps on the Turkish end of things you will first need to visit an American Consulate or Embassy in Turkey to obtain a certificate that allows you to wed. Research online the embassy or consulate that is nearest you, you can make an appointment online and there should also be instructions of what all you will need to bring with you in order to obtain that document.

After you have completed several other steps after obtaining the documents allowing you to marry in Turkey, yes, you will be subjected to a blood test there. As you will be marrying abroad in Turkey, from my understanding, you should not need to do any blood tests in the US.

Hope this helps answer your questions.

To make it really clear, everything will take place in Turkey if that is where you plan to wed. I did not have to do anything state side prior to getting married in Turkey. Hope that helps.
