Your position seems to be you only get one chance at picking the best candidate available.

If your guy does not win the nomination, you can't move on to make "Best choice available" in the election.

I don't think it's very complicated Danno. If you have reservations about a presidential candidate, you still have those reservations whether the candidate gets selected to run or not. The fact that the guy has been selected to run, shouldn't mean that you put aside those criticisms.

There's no point having a political commentators who act like a party political mouthpieces.

Most of these op-ed authors are hopeless partisan. Always seems there's very little middle ground in political commentary in the media.

There's an article where Sowell supported Gingrich over Romney suggesting that Romney is a bland choice and questioning what Romney had done as Governor of Massachussets.

Personally, I'd want to know where that criticism has gone now that Romney is the Republican candidate...

You won't find it because this commentator (and many like him) don't have the courage of their convictions. All political candidates should be scrutinised, you shouldn't suspend criticism just to present some sort of united front. That's bullsh!t. If he saw fit to criticise Romney then, he should be doing it now too.

Hillary is a politician, Sowell is a political commentator. Just because he's conservative, it doesn't mean he should abandon his criticisms because Romney supports his side. That kind of makes him a #######.
