RFE for Birth Certificate on I-485

We just received notification for RFE for a copy of my husband's birth certificate for his I-485. We submitted a copy of his entire passport and thought either or was adequate. Everything I've read said that either the passport or the birth certificate was okay. Has anyone else been RFE'd for similar evidence?

Did you submit the birth certificate card or have to submit the long form birth certificate? Currently we only have the birth certificate card, which is the main reason I didn't submit both in the first place...

Grrrr....so stinking frustrated right now... :(

We submitted a copy of our short form birth certificates and brought a copy of the long form to our interview.

No problems or RFE's for us! I'd say you should just send them a copy.

Is your husband the American? I don't believe we ever submitted my husbands birth certificate, just his passport. But the Canadian definitely needs to submit the long form birth certificate.

Crumb...now I don't know what to do. I've clearly messed up. Somehow I missed submitting the birth certificate on the original document list and that's why it was RFE'd...in its place I submitted the passport. :bonk: I realize that now...

So I've submitted for the long form BC, but I'm not sure if I should wait for that or just send in the short form...

Thoughts? At this point, what's a couple of weeks, right? Will his A/P be affected by the RFE?

I'm the American, he's the Canadian...but I did most of the paperwork since it was so complicated. Now I'm thinking he should have worked on it. :)
