Hi All,

I am heading to Vietnam at the end of this month to have our engagement party. The DoS told me that NVC has sent the package to HCMC on July 25th. DoS also told me that HCMC has already sent package 3 to my financee but she has not received it, I am thinking in the next few days, she will.

This is my 3rd trip to Vietnam to see her in a little more than 2 years during our relationship and this time she and I will officially engage. Bringing with me are the following so that she can be ready once she received package 4 for the interview

1. Copy of the entire I-129F package that sent the petition

2. Send all originals of the documentary proof that submitted for the I-129F to fiancee for interview at the embassy

3. Send the original letter affirming your desire to marry your finacee and your continued to support of the K-1 Visa. Sign and date the form. Date closer to the interview

4. I-134 Affidavit of Support Form. Ensure it is signed with all required supporting evidence

5. At least 3 of most recent pay stubs

6. Signed letter from your employer listing job title, start date, salary, and the status (full-time).

7. Banking information and other assets as required by the I-134

8. Income tax filed

9. A copy of the NOA2 Letter received in the mail

10. Proof of ongoing relationship between the time filed and present (NOA1 and now)

11. Phone bills, emails, letters, copy of engagement ring receipt

12. Timeline of Relationship

13. The 10 years of residency with public notarized

This is how my TimeLine look like. I will print this out and bring it to the bank to get it notarized.

Re: Timeline of relationship with my fiancée, Pham Thi Tuyet Trinh. DOB: 07-12-1988.

Case Number: HCM xxxx xxx xxx.

I, Hy Vong Nguyen, a citizen of the U.S., am the fiancé of Pham Thi Tuyet Trinh. The following is a sworn affidavit documenting the timeline of our relationship during January 10th, 2010 to present.

I first met Pham Thi Tuyet Trinh on January 10th, 2010 at the Saigon Plaza, in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam. I had gone to the Saigon Plaza to buy gifts, and Tuyet Trinh worked at the shop. While buying the gifts, Tuyet Trinh and I had a very nice conversation and we exchanged phone numbers.

We sent many text messages to each other, and on January 12th, 2010, we went out on our first date. We met up at 8pm in Ho Chi Minh City, District 1 on a tourist boat along the Saigon River.

After our first date, both of us continued to send text messages and to talk on the phone. We met again two more times at the Saigon Plaza when I came over to see her. We also met on the following dates during our relationship.

02/03/2010 – Tuyet Trinh and I went to Dam Sen Water Park in Ho Chi Minh City.

03/02/2010 - 03/04/2010 – Tuyet Trinh and I went to Da Lat.

03/12/2012 -

09/06/2011-09/07/2011 -

09/08/2011-09/10/2011 -

09/10/2011-09/11/2011 -.

09/12/2011 -

02/10/2012 - I made marriage proposal to Tuyet Trinh by phone. She happily accepted and requested for an engagement ceremony to be held at her hometown.

03/12/2012 - I filed form I-129F Petition for K-1 Fiancée Visa for Pham Thi Tuyet Trinh.

09/01/2012 -

09/10/2012 -.We had our engagement ceremony held in her hometown.

I found a woman that I love very much. More importantly I found in her what I’ve been looking for all my life. She is my love, my future, and I want to marry to her, to have children and to spend the rest of my life with her.

1. She is always there for me, patiently listening to my problems, shares her opinions and thoughts, and I do the same for her.

2. She is a very nice, beautiful, and understanding person. She has a very good heart and cares for others.

3. Last but not least, the most important thing in marriage is to love and be loved. I definitely find it with Tuyet Trinh. She is a very loving and passionate woman.

Pham Thi Tuyet Trinh and I still remain in contact while we’re apart from each other. We also intend to marry and look forward to starting our lives together as husband and wife when she arrives here in the U.S.

Should I really tell my fiancee to bring the filled out package 3 that I downloaded from the HCMC website at this time and don't have to wait for the package 3 to arrive?

Why are you posting personal info on this board for? You should remove them. You're fine with all the info on here. Just take a deep breath and do some searching on here. No need to freak out.

Op - Looks like you have a complete list and well prepared.

I would suggest maybe notarized letters from you family acknowledging the relationship. For the 10 year residency maybe copy of bills, mortgage, lease statements putting you at the places you resided. You can send packet 3 if you were told the Consulate has sent it to your SO. My fiancée never received packet 3 but once she learned the consulate sent it , she dropped it off.

Best wishes!

I emailed pkt 3... In your residency be sure to show who you lived with at those addresses and the relationship.

Thank you guys.

The information such as names and the addresses above are just examples I made up, I didn't put my real info up here.

For the addresses of the 10 years residency. I don't have the bills for all the places in the last 10 years to show them, what I have are the Bank statements that I can print out from online but those are just available for the last 7 years. What I can do is to look for my filed income taxes from 2002. I hope the bank statements and old income taxes are good enough as proof for the addresses that I resided.

I called the DoS again this morning and they told me that HCMC sent package 3 out on August 1st. I'll ask my fiancee to wait til Wednesday of next week if she doesn't receive that package, she'll mail in DS-2001 and DS-230 Part 1 to the HCMC.

My fiancee have not received package 3 from the HCMC.

But on Friday 08/10/2012 I received a letter from

Consular Section

Department of State

7160 Ho Chi Minh City Place

Washington DC

saying

"The U.S Consulate in Ho Chi Minh City has received your K Visa application for processing.

You should download the instruction package on our website at http://photos.state.gov/libraries/hochiminh/714680/shenjy/INSTRUCTION%20PACKAGE%20FOR%20IMMIGRANT%20VISA%20APPLICANTS.pdf

.

.

"

Ok so I followed the link to download the Instruction package (Package 3). This is the latest version of July 2012, they ask more then just DS-2001 and DS-230 Part I.

This new version of Package 3, they also ask us to send in

Visa photo: Two (2) full face color photographs for each applicant. Write your name and date of birth

on the back of each of your photos. You may find more information on page 5 for photo specifications

and a list of photo shops in Ho Chi Minh City

Passports: One (1) photocopy of passport for each applicant. Valid passports are required for all

applicants including children. The passport must have at least eight month validity beyond the issuance

date of the visa.

So after reading through the new instruction package, I told my fiancee to also send 2 Visa Photos and Copy of Passport with the DS-2001 and DS-230 Part I. My fiancee is going to mail all these tomorrow 08/13/12 at the post office in Saigon.

Please help.

I don't understand why on the letter I received from DoS stated that HCMC has received my K Visa application. But the link on the letter is the INSTRUCTION PACKAGE FOR IMMIGRANT VISA APPLICANTS

What is the different between the INSTRUCTION PACKAGE FOR IMMIGRANT VISA APPLICANTS

and the INSTRUCTION PACKAGE FOR K VISA APPLICANTS?

Thanks ScottThuy,

I have 1 more question and I know this might be a stupid question but I just want to make sure.

The DS-230 has 4 pages

Part I is pages 1-2

Part II is pages 3-4

My financee filled out Part I only and will send tomorrow with DS-2001 (pages 1-2)

So we are not filling out and not sending Part II (Pages s3-4) correct? But questions 39-44 on Part II seems like they need to be filled.

Also. I read package 4 instruction from online, one of the requirements my financcee needs to take with her to the interview is DS-230 Part I.

This is very confusing. We are sending DS-230 Part I for package 3. Why do they want DS-230 Part I again for the interview date? And I don't see anywhere that they talk about Part II of the DS-230.

Please help

hi Hy Vong, you do not have to fill out anything for DS 230 Part II. They will ask your fiance to fill that out at the interview. you are correct that they ask to submit DS 230 prior to the interview, and ask for it again at the interview. We mailed both DS 230 part I (filled out) and part II (blank) prior to receive package 4. My fiance filled out the DS 230 part I again with blank part II for the interview. my suggestion is just do what they ask you to do. That way you have yourself cover and minimize potential problems. hope that helps to explain to you.
