I-129F approved, NVC did not receive case

Hi everyone,

Need some input here!

Our I-129F was approved and notified by USCIS on May 16 (case processed at CSC). My fiance received the approval notice in the mail stating the next steps.

So it's been more than a month and we didn't hear from NVC. My fiance called NVC today and NVC said they did not receive our case from USCIS. Oh man. Then he called USCIS and USCIS said they'll review our case and respond in 5 days. Also, the person from NVC told my fiance on the phone that USCIS "may" have forwarded the case to the consulate (where I'm currently residing) directly. Well, I thought this was quite impossible.

Has anyone experienced such a situation before????

We called NVC. So do you mean that NVC and Dept of State are different?

I have called NVC 6 times now. I have emailed them twice (with the scan of my NOA2 both times).

I got an email from NVC that they have no record of receiving my application and will contact USCIS on my behalf.

I contact USCIS 3 times, today being the latest. I demanded to talk to a manager. They forwarded me to an officer. Officer looked in her computer and said that I have already asked USCIS to research my application and by June 30, I should receive an email from them regarding the result of their research.

This week is the 5th week. I have been told by others that NVC sends these in batches and that the NVC is full of ####### and that to expect the package from NVC to suddenly appear in your physical mailbox between 5 to 6 weeks (though the NOA2 states 15 working days).

So, next week is the 6th week, and I sure do hope it finally comes. I only need an MNL number to continue with this freaking long process.

I almost want my fiancee to just emigrate to Mexico, cross the San Diego border illegally, and get Amnesty. People going through this legally are getting the major screw. But of course I will not opt for anything illegal. We all just have to suffer along this idiotic process of getting the one you love to marry in this country.

All i-129f petitions travel through NVC. NVC assigns the embassy case number, USCIS can't do that. The petition might be in NVC's possession but not logged into their system yet. That means they can't give you any info. Other times it's a matter of the rep not being able to see any updates. That was the case when I called(however it didn't take a month).

Your case may have been mistakenly sent to National Record Center (NVC); a storage facility for USCIS inactive file.

My case was approved on April 30 and was never received by Nationa Visa Center (NVC). After so many email exchanges with USCIS and NVC, I was notified that my case was located at NRC instead of NVC. I am still awaiting the case to be sent back to USCIS for another review and approval then to NVC. There is no processing time available so it can take another 5 months. I wish you good luck with your case.

Have you received anything or heard from USCIS or NVC? First, we received an email response from USCIS saying that our case was only forwarded to NVC on June 19, 2012 (more than 4 weeks after approval date!!!). After many phone calls with USCIS, the representatives kept insisting our case was forwarded to the US consulate and not NVC. Previously, NVC already insisted that our case was not received. So my fiance kept calling USCIS because I insisted US consulate visa units will never receive cases without NVC numbers. USCIS representatives say different things every time!! My fiance then spoke with a supervisor and this person said it takes 30-90 days to forward the case to NVC. Then he was put on hold again. Wow, this situation was quite unexpected and we weren't sure what to believe now =(

I'm in the same boat. Almost 5 weeks since our approval and NVC hasn't seen anything yet. The CSC is more than unhelpful, probably because it's all their fault. I've emailed everyone under the sun and so far it hasn't done anything. NVC has asked me to stop calling and just wait for them to email me back..yeah, right. Everything was fine until May and then suddenly USCIC started holding petitions after the got approved. This is supposed to be the fast part of this process and it's maddening that this is happening. How hard is it to mail paper from one branch of the government to another????

For those of you that are USCs in the US currently, you might consider contacting your congressional representative. We did, and found them very helpful, although our issue was different. They had liason contacts at each USCIS office, and I presume would have the same at NVC. If there is a problem with lost files or late processing, they are able to get supervisory attention. Make sure you have case numbers, correct name spelling, dates, etc. available.

You should get your Congressperson involved. There is no reason you should have to wait for an additional review because they made a mistake. Your petition was approved already. Don't wait on them, they don't care!

We heard from a 3rd tier supervisor and were told that our case was only just forwarded to NVC on June 19. We will keep checking with NVC in the next few days.
