We're talking about going days before the appointment, not just 30 minutes early. We went about 2 weeks before our date on our most recent one. Many offices allow it. Some turn people away.

CITY: TEXAS - AUSTIN Office

REASON: We were in the area that day (we live an hour away). It was the week before our appointment time.

SUCCESSFUL: Yes. No problem at all. Gave them the appointment letter and was given the forms to fill out.

We were in and out in less than 30 minutes. Everyone was very friendly there. :)

City - Reason - Successful?

CALIFORNIA

Buena Park CA - No reason, just gave security guard my appt letter. Yes

IOWA

Des Moines - April 2010 - Husbands erratic work schedule meant rescheduling wouldn't help because there was still no guarantee the new date would work - Successful

Des Moines - March 2011 - To get it over with - Successful (advised they were being more strict but letting them proceed due to no-one else being there)

MARYLAND

Wheaton - told Security guard I was not going to be in State on the day. Yes

MINNESOTA

St Paul - No reason asked or given. Successful

TEXAS

Houston (Hwy 290) - gave no reason, only appt letter. Yes (3 times-AOS, ROC, Citizenship)

---

I suggest people add the date as I was PM'd in the last 6 months or so and told that walk-ins weren't permitted at Des Moines anymore.

Good idea. I'll add my date and fix the list by adding names one more time, but I'm not going to be the list keeper.
