8 months after the initial filing, and 7 months after being transferred, god has heard our prayers.

On October 10, 2012, we ordered production of your new card. Please allow 30 days for your card to be mailed to you. If we need something from you we will contact you. If you move before you receive the card, call customer service at 1-800-375-5283.

We are finally through with the AOS process...

What worked for us, I can't say for sure. But here's what we did.

On Oct 1, 2012 we made a service request by calling the USCIS national customer care number.

On Oct 4, 2012 we faxed the documents to the Congressman Ackerman and Senator Gillibrand (privacy release form with brief description and I-485 Receipt + Transfer Notice).

On Oct 5, 2012 we sent the documents to Senator Schumer (same docs as above).

Today morning (Oct 10, 2012) we got a call from Congressman Ackerman's office around 10:40 AM asking for my wife's signature on the privacy release form (which I had faxed). Probably they hadn't sent the inquiry on our behalf yet.

Oct 10, 2012 11:30 AM EDT I received an SMS (but no email even though I am registered to receive both forms of notifications) saying that our case status has been updated.

And voila...

I would like to thank everyone who kept us in their prayers. For those out there who have yet to be approved, just hang in there. Your applications will soon be adjudicated. Have faith.

Okay, USCIS is apparently showing us a lots of attention today.

Was just having dinner with wife and a few close friends and we received 2 more SMS messages:

Oct 10, 2012 10 PM EDT: Update. checked case and now our case status went from "Card/Docu,ent Production" to "Decision"

On October 10, 2012, we mailed you a notice that we had registered this customer's new permanent resident status. Please follow any instructions on the notice. Your new permanent resident card should be mailed within 60 days following this registration or after you complete any ADIT processing referred to in the welcome notice, whichever is later. If you move before receiving your card, please call our customer service center at 1-800-375-5283.

During this step the formal decision (approved/denied) is written and the decision notice is mailed and/or emailed to the applicant/petitioner. You can use our current processing time to gauge when you can expect to receive a final decision.

Later at 10:15PM we received another update SMS. This time the status remained the same at "Decision"

Seems a bit strange the status is regressing but I think the first status might have been a fluke update as they still need to send us a Welcome Notice yatta yatta yatta.

A word of advice to others who are waiting. File a service request, then get your congressman and senators involved as we did.

I'm sure the turnaround will be quicker this way.

regards,

Chigs

FYI

I don't think the Senators or Congressman involvement did anything. My Wife's greencard has a date of 10/04/2012. I contacted the senators on 10/05/2012.

I DO think that my service request on 10/01/2012 worked.

For everyone outside USA, these dates are MM/DD/YYYY (yeah I know we confuse everyone).

8 months today since I was transferred to CSC. Nothing yet. Looking into how to renew or reapply for EAD and AP just in case. I hope they review my case soon.

Piefre, hang in there.

Have you called in for a Service Request? I suggest you do so ASAP.

Finally!!! 10 months and 14 days after sending off my I-485 it done!

Congrats, I knew you guys would be approved soon. I just had a feeling.

5 Months waiting...still under Initial Review...

I know the feeling. Every time I check my case status and see "initial review" my heart sinks, down to the bottom of Hell. It's been around six months for me.

If you are past the 6 month deadline, file a service request for "Processing times outside of normal timeframe."

While Sharon+Larry still have a month to go, Member9 you can call in the National Customer Care at 800-375-5283 and get this rolling.

I would like to think that in my case the service request is what did the trick. I called on Oct 1, 2012. Received notification that card was in production on Oct 10, 2012.

The card as a date of Oct 4, 2012. I did contact the senators as well, however that was done on and after Oct 5, 2012. And they surely did reach out to me immediately that the case was approved (of course to take credit).

Call the USCIS and file a service request, at the 6 month mark. YOU HAVE NOTHING TO LOSE and a EVERYTHING TO GAIN.

Good luck to you both.

Called USCIS today on lunch AOS still pending. Waited on hold for Tier 2 and no one answered. Called back after work at 7PM EST

Card/ Document Production

On November 5, 2012, we ordered production of your new card. Please allow 30 days for your card to be mailed to you.

How weird is that. I also contacted my Congressman and US Senator. I will only believe it once I have the card in my hot little hands.

that will mean ROC in 1 year and 9 months. Then it starts all over again.
